In a nutshell- Cousin Corrado took us all over Lake Como, including to the castle where they filmed Casino Royale, and George Clooney's place! He took us up the mountain side. We always thought that we were at the top, but then we went higher! We went for a walk around the area. We went down to S. Segmente for an expresso and then up into the hills. We also went to Lugano Lido where Corrado works in Switzerland for a fun day of swimming. The ...

It's time to pack up and leave Venice to start the real road trip. We bought our tickets for the Ali Laguna (airport water bus) yesterday so are all set to pick our car up from the airport. The answer when you actually get there is no. Why would I ever want ...

Weather: Sunny and mid-70's during the day, with cool mid-50's in the evening. The weather has definitely shifted and all of a sudden it feels like the beginning of fall. It's perfect hiking weather. On this day, we decided to take the hike I had researched before we left. This was supposed to be Amy's birthday 'morning' hike - but after looking at how long it might take us and given the other things we decided to do on her actual birthday (which would be ...

Lake Como

... large the lake actually was (even though it is the deepest and third largest in Italy). We chose the cruise with a bar, and had no shame grabbing drinks during our 11am departure (vacation in our vacation)! We happily set the bar, as we saw many others head to the bar after we reached the top deck with drinks in hand, enjoying the sun and fresh air. Lake Como is truly beautiful with little towns and cliff side houses all along the ...
