... with the diesel smell interrupted by passing a dairy farm. One lesson from not using a guidebook is that I have to go with my gut feeling and accept the consequences of the choice. ... despite her best efforts, the pain would not allow her to complete the walk. She made it 4 miles. Fortunately, we were at a cafe where we could call a taxi. We all decided to make it a short day and accompany her into Leon. Our first goal was to get her some medical care. We found our hotel and were able to check in early.
