... beds, why is it that no human being under the age of 10 can sit up in a bunk bed without belting their head. All of my training of sleeping on the rum rambler has put me in extremely good stead for this bunk bed extravaganza. However, others haven't been as fortunate. Some, while soundly sleeping, have been awoken by the sudden and violent nature of others flatulence or snoring. The automatic human nature is of course to sit bolt upright in bed. Free to allow the simple rhythm of the day to carry one along- a cycle of early rising, simple breakfasts, preparing for the walk-water, food (roll and cheese) backpack packed, and off to the rhythmic tap of the walking sticks- for me they have become a critical extension of me helping to steady my on the difficult stony downslopes and helping to carry some of the weight.
