We happened upon the Palacio del Conde Luna, a new interactive museum about the history of Leon. The palace, which has undergone much restoration, has Roman origins and in one part the two sections of the wall date back to 1st century AD and the 3rd century AD. The lady pointed out pieces of bone in one wall too, but said they don't know what the bones ...

... the awful weather prediction this morning, I had certainly hoped it wouldn't eventuate and the sore heals I had yesterday, was a focus of hope also. That they wouldn't be too sore today. I can say that the weather turned out beautiful and although my heals weren't painless, they were not as bad as yesterday. Today we got up and got ready for our 7am breakfast. Most of the people in our room got up and headed off early. The breakfast was great with cereal, juices, toast, jam, coffee, sweet cakes. It was a lovely way to start the morning. This albergue was a surprise from start to finish as it had every convenience, was spotlessly clean, friendly owners who did not speak a word of english and relied on a donation from guests to survive.

... flicks of sheep through the Main Street of the town. Had an ordinary pilgrim meal tonight with similarly ordinary wine. Still it was ok for the price. Good ice cream! Looking forward to a good nights sleep. The last two days have started to wear me down a bit. Some residual soreness creeping in. We hit Leon in 2 days so it will be good to have this stretch of the Mesata behind us. Expecting tomorrow to be another cold ...
