... but eventually we had to go out to get on the boat for snorkeling. The boat ride to the snorkeling spot was amazing and relaxing! I got a little sea sick once we anchored, but I just jumped in the water with all my snorkeling gear so I was fine. Snorkeling was cool but I had trouble breathing and my mouth piece was broken. It's also sort of gross because everyone bites the same thing that has been on a ton of other people's mouths. ...

... got a couple cornrows so when I get back, I'll look like a true Dominican vacationer. Afterwords, I had dinner and sat through my last talk with Georgio. Only mildly sad about that one. For leadership, we watched another TED talk and then had 2 hours of free time! I sat out and watched the stars by myself for a bit. Laying down outside in the Dominican, just staring at the beautiful palm trees above and the night sky makes me feel so in touch with myself ...

Why the heck did I not bring a fan here? You don't understand heat until you go to the equator in July. It is so. freaking. hot. Today we took the short 10 minute bus ride to Caña Dulce. I started out with some more cement mixing (yay) with a group of 5 other kids I didn't really know very well. 4 of them were rising seniors, all from California. The 5th was a girl from Virginia who just graduated and is actually attending UVA this fall! ...

... popping popcorn has taught us to slow down as we have reverted to
doing it the 'heat and shake' way on the stove top. And as I have observed the
people around me, what at first I might have viewed as laziness, is actually
people just being instead of doing. The nice part is they tend to 'be' together.
Men gather and play dominoes. Driving down the roads you pass countless groups
of people just gathered together, talking. They pull a chair out in front of

Lifes been pretty good lately. Lots of service, good times with the Brothers and Sisters here, and pasarados! Okay let's see, so us girls walked to a coffee place and had some amazing frappes...maybe they really weren't amazing but when you haven't had that kind of thing in awhile they seem amazing. The place was pretty cool, the tables there were awesome with the beans under the glass. We've been to a few pasarado's. Every now and then we go to one thats ...
