Historical Traveler Reviews Casa Schuck Boutique Hotel San Miguel de Allende
Loved Casa Schuck
Casa Schuck is a wonderful home base for exploring San Miguel de Allende. The accommodations are located in a beautiful old colonial mansion, the breakfasts are outstanding, the hosts informative and helpful and the other guests are equally fun. If you are looking for old-world charm, this is definitely the spot.
Exudes charm
Booked at Casa Schuck based on internet reviews, and was thoroughly delighted. The place is very atmospheric, immaculately clean and friendly. The owners are highly organised and completely knowledgeable of the town. A small downside for us was that there are absolutely no hotel type services available (such as private phones) - but easily forgiven if only for the charm of the place. Thanks to Susan and Charles for a great stay.
The Best Little B and B in SMA!
Everyting about this wonderful place is exquiste. The staff is amazingly attentive and the views from the rooftop are scintillating.
The blooming gardens make this an oasis within an oasis of the city. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning.
The Best of San Miguel de Allende
I have spent 6 years vacationing in Mexico, but Casa Schuck was the best experience I have had! It is a truly beautiful boutique bed and breakfast, from the open courtyard, lovely living room, dining room (yummy breakfast!) and library/media room. Quiet and peaceful, the location is close to everything. The rooms are all special and unique!
This review would not be complete without mentioning the amazing service and hospitality of Susan and Chuck, the owners. These two really bend over backwards to accomodate their clients! From the moment we arrived at dinner hour and hungry, Chuck went out to pick up dinner for us....to allowing me to use the email for business when I needed it...they're just good people!
Very special B&B!
Casa Schuck is a truly special place. The house is exquisite and the owners could not be more friendly and welcoming. The Jacaranda room has french doors leading out onto a lush garden and looking down on the town below. You will not soon forget your experience!
The rooftop garden views are spectacular!
Casa Schuck was every bit as beautiful as the website shows it to be .... lush gardens, very nice rooms and a spectacular view from the rooftop garden.
Susan and Chuck are charming hosts and very accomodating in every way.
Breakfast was just so-so, with coffee being the only thing we did not enjoy ... the wine selection for sunset viewing was, however, very nice for the price and I will return.
Karen Brown is right on the money with this reccomendation
We travel ONLY using the advise and guidance of Karen Brown, and when she states"If you are looking for an impeccably kept bed and breakfast with romantic charm, lovely gardens, gorgeous swimming pool, unbeatable location, and warmth of welcome, you will find nowhere better than the Casa Schuck Boutique B&B. It is truly a jewel, with amazingly low rates for such quality." she is so completely right on the mark. Could not have been better. Gracias to the host, Susan & Karen Brown.
Loved the Casa Schuck
My wife & I just had a family reunion at Casa Schuck. We arranged 12 family members to come together from all parts of the USA. What a task, but so worth it after we had the best time in San Miguel. Our room was the "Rose Room", our favorite with a patio that extends to the roof top. The views from that roof top garden were the best I saw during our stay. They owners were kind and very assertive as they completely planned our meals and daily activities. It was a total vacation experience and we plan on doing our next reunion there in 2004. I give them five stars*****.
Unbelieveable Wonderful Boutique Hotel.....
I recently stayed at Casa Schuck in JULY 2003. I too met the wonderful child that this last reviewer wrote and stayed in their most wonderful suite.
"Carlo" , the babies name is truly a gem and the house was in ALL it's glory. WE were overwhelmed by the beauty and Charles & Susan were the kindest couple. Every detail was impeccable. I will recommend CASA SCHUCK to everyone I know, and I find it hard to believe that OAK PARK, IL wrote such a terrible thing about an exquisite place. Calling this establishment "CASA SUCK" is the most childish review I can imagine.
Please check out their site as it looks even better than the pictures..... There is a reason that they were recently written up in TRAVEL & LEISURE and that KAREN BROWN likes this wonderful find as well.
Still the best place to stay in town
I have been a client for as long as they have been in business. I stayed with them some 15 years ago. It has recently been taken over by the grand-daughter of Gladys & Charles Schuck, daughter of Tito & Nancy Cordelli. This family run and owned establishment is like a great bottle of wine, it gets better with age. There has been a bit a face lift done to the already impeccable home and all the personal services offered now bring it up to a 4-5 star rating. The staff is the most helpful and the home is incredibly clean. The roof top deck it the best view in town. It has always been the best accommodations and rates in town and our last visit in October 2002 exceeeded all of our expectations. Our daughter was married there recently and we felt as though we were taken care of like family. Charles & Susan, the new managers, are the most delightful hosts and made our daughters special day all the more special. They have a wonderful website. We give this wonderful home our highest reviews.
