... up a wee bit late. But Martin became friends with some lovely Spanish Grandmas that helped us pass the time!

A quick trip back and then the fun began for the evening!

... amazing fews of the bay. There is a giant statue of Christ up at the summit, very similar to 'Christ the redeemer' over in Rio.
The old part of town has some narrow streets with plenty of bars offering pinxos (mostly seafood but quite a few smoked meats and cheeses)
Visited the museum 'De San Telmo' all about Basque history. Modern building fused with a refurbished church and cloister.
Afer 3 days of solid rain in San Sebastian, I decided to leave and head for Bilbao.

... did what she does best- going shopping! It was a great day anyway, because San Sebastian is a vibrant city and has interesting people. We did go out for a nice dinner a short distance from the pension. Debbie was able to work with Teressa to secure a room until Sunday.

We bought plane tickets via Ryan Air to Madrid to meet Myra on Monday. I am hoping my leg will heal so we can further enjoy this city. Back to icing and ...

Sans Sebastian 5th July 2012 We got a 5.30am train from Bordeaux to Sans Sebastian so that we could get there early to make the most of our 1 night there.
