Whale-watching in Dominica
... headed back to the island invigorated. We stopped to pick up snorkeling supplies and lunch, and then went to the champagne coast to see the coral reef. The coast gets its name from the bubbles that form on the surface of the water from underground volcanic activity. We got back to the port just in time to take one of the last tender boats back to the ship, and we sailed away from Dominica in the afternoon towards our final stop: Port Everglades, ...
Day of the bus
Idag hade vi bestämt att vi skulle flänga runt hela ön i en minivan, stanna lite här och var och insupa miljön och den vackra utsikten. Det var sjukt najs, och tröttsamt eftersom vägarna är lite si och så... Här och var hade jordskred täckt vägen så man fick åka runt lixom...
Emerald pool var första stoppet, sen genom Carib teritory på östsidan av ön. En och annan svart strand passerades, men havsbadandet blev på en vanlig sandstrand - härliga ...

... us to participate in. We attended a barbeque which they put on one evening, where they had their Minister for Tourism attend, as well as Chris Doyle, the writer of all the touring guides which most cruisers use as their "bible". We got to meet both these people, and many others, all of whom had similar sailing interests.
All in all our experience in Dominica was really pleasant and one that Ray and I will remember always.

Let's Just Relax
... We stayed and talked to her son for awhile and had a Coke. We walked back to Escape (pronounced as the French would pronounce it) because we know it is a great restaurant. On the way up the hill, we heard someone yelling at us, and it was ****l, the young man we met at Escape the first time we eat there. He showed us a shortcut to the restaurant--straight up a mountainside, I must add! ****l is 29, and he is as cute as he can ...
And they said it couldn't be done!
... We passed through the Soufriere volcanic crater, a beautiful lush area. We had a great time stopping at the Cold Soufriere, a cold sulphur spring. Of course, we could smell it long before we arrived, but it was an easy hike, and my chemisty/geology loving husband was wonderful at explaining how and why it was doing what it was doing. The white bubbling pools were quite fascinating, and I am glad we stopped.
