We're staying at Na Bolom (Jaguar House in one of the 33 Mayan languages), which is the former residence of the amazing Frans and Trudy Blom, an archeologist and anthropologist/photographer couple who dedicated themselves to helping the Lacandon indigenous people (Mayans) who live in the jungle ...

San Cristobal De Las Casas, Mexico netballliz... frequency of 180 degree curves because it´s downhill from Oaxaca and then uphill to San Crist; not every person can handle the walk through the bus to the toilet without falling in somebody´s lap.
San Cristobal is hippie heaven, it is full of hippies and probably top 5 in the world on the Hippie shops per capita list. Hippies are friendly so finding a place to sleep wasn´t a problem, but they can at times be too deep and boring. The worst thing is the weather because now ...
... looking girl I was eyeing off on the bus, but we got stuck sitting with this Mexican guy. He could speak pretty good english, and was telling Brendan and myself about Chipas and Mexico in general. Once we got to the river, we were herded onto a boat for the trip up river to the canyon which was going to take about two hours. We had been reading the lonely planet the night before which said that in some spots the canyon was up to 800m high. The canyon was ...
1. I love English
San Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico mymzy... plants is a little shrine containing the most sacred religious objects. Also on the table is a goblet used to drink the famous “posh” – a sugar cane based alcoholic drink. Raul made the point that unfortunately overconsumption of “posh” is a common problem in the town particularly during festivals when everyone is expected to participate by drinking posh in every house that they visit.
It would have been priceless to have actually seen the ...
... unique designs and deep colors we were eager to see the region that produced such beauty.
Not only were the handicrafts beautiful but also the Chiapen indigenous people selling them. They had a distinguished calm look about them that must have been rooted in their Mayan ancestry.
The clincher for me personally was that Chiapas was also one of the three great coffee growing regions of Mexico. Like a wine region, a coffee region is something to behold.

... Maedels! Ich verstehe euch!" Oh nein, gleich wieder blamiert!
