Our last full day in San Francisco took us to Muir Woods - home of the giant redwood trees. Wow! I never thought I would take so many pictures of trees, but they are massive. The drive to the National Park was about 30 minutes from Sausalito on a tour bus. It was very foggy this morning and we hoped it would burn off so we had visibility throughout the day. The road itself into Muir Woods was very windy and twisty with no guard ...

Went to The Rock this morning - great experience. Short boat ride over to the island with views of Golden Gate on the way. Had a tour that talked about the various escape attempts and close calls - some amazing stories of what they tried (aside from the famous escape from alcatraz story where the escapees were never found...) After that you take audio tour of the prison which was well done - ...

Our first 2 days we bought a 48 hour hop on hop off Big Bus ticket and spent time ...

And now we are back in Jacks (after $40 cab c/o Jenny and not the quoted $75!!!) with mocha stout, whisky and Irish coffees. Dinner is Mac'ds I think and then bed as 0500 start to head off to Yosemite. Nothing to do with the fact I am feeling a tad tiddly!!!! ;) Fabulous Christmas Day so far! :) ...

... across the bridge. It really was a perfect day and once we reached Crissy Fields we stopped and sat on a bench for a while taking in the view of the bay and the bridge. We took a leisurely ride onwards back to the cycle hire shop and returned the bikes at around 4 o'clock. As it was our last evening in San Francisco Matt wanted to take full advantage of the perfectly clear skies and opted to put his camera to good use. We took a bit of a stroll as Matt clicked away, before ...
