Brave new world !
... it this site has it. It is populated by septuagenarian couples from northern europe who have flown or more likely driven south for the winter. Some germans and dutch but mainly brits. For Señor y Señora, it is like a brave new world, a frightening vision of the future. Electric bikes and mobility scooters proliferate, everyone is happy, chatty, smiling. Monument to madness !
... Barcelona mid-day. Time for a beer and sort himself out. He opens the map looking for the Sagrada Familia since Señora says that he must see this if nothing else. He can't find it on the map and assumes it is the cathedral. He sets off at a good pace thinking that he'll take a lot of photos as evidence then relax for the rest of the day. Job done, Señor finds a nice restaurant, eats a tasty reasonably priced meal and enjoys a couple of beers. Text from Señora - ...
4 nights at a festival
... vodka (or a few other spirits), about 7.5 Euro for 1 L of beer or 1 red bull vodka (double shot). Food is alright with a range of festival food (Mexican, grills, vege, Thai), far better than the gross food at Australian Concerts.
I have to say though partying all night definitely takes its toll. It’s hard to sleep all day when there is no transition. And I'm saying that from an air-conditioned resort room! We all took a walk ...
Time Out
... to the weekly market and sorting bits and pieces for the boat is a breeze. We have been kept very busy getting all our maintenance up to date in preparation for the Atlantic.
The second kiwi boat was Awaroa with Helen and John. They arrived in time to watch the New Zealand - France RWC game. Over breakfast we cheered and yahooed our way through the game, much to the amusement of the cafe owners and Spanish friends. Great result.
