An early start meant we made it to Hopwas at 2pm as planned to meet up with my parents and grandparents.
It was our first day of bad weather, although it wasn't actually that bad, at one point we went under a bridge and came out on the other side in torrential rain. After a minor panic of putting on waterproofs it wasn't bad in the rain, I held up an umbrella for Carrie and we carried on in the rain. It wasn't cold and when the rain stopped and the sun ...
... so despite both me and Carrie being exhausted we limped our way into Armitage.
Once moored up it seemed like Carrie got a burst of energy so went blackberry picking, we then had a dinner of beans on toast with mushrooms followed by french toast with a kind of jam style coulis using the last of the fresh fruit.

We then decided the price was a little steep and we didn't have enough time to fully explore the place so headed back to the boat, on the way we found some fairy doors, numbered 2 and 3. With Carrie being a bit obsessed with trails, I'm surprised she didn't demand to stay to at least find door number 1.
But we had to make progress due to a plan to meet up with my parents and grandparents for lunch the next day.

While there was only 1 scrapbook vendor and Bobbie was able to find a couple of things, we did have fun looking at all the different kind of craft things being sold and/or demonstrated. It was as though we had been living in a cardboard box and that box was our world and now we found ourselves living in a landscape we had never experienced before and it was breathtaking. There are many really tough ideas that the bible throws up. If you pray for wisdom and understanding God will open your eyes and give you new perspectives. Who would ever believe that being second best is better than being the best?
