A Daily Routine Not for the Weak-Hearted

... to the local zoo. We got in for free because my dad is the vet. I fed a buffalo, a bear, and gave a monkey a lollipop! It was very fun. There were a lot of big cats, snakes, bears, buffaloes, camels, elk, and monkeys. There were even puppies for sale in the entrance! I liked the zoo very much.

Every day I learn new words, notice cultural differences, strategize against homesickness, make mistakes, try new food, and love Mexico more and more.

There are a couple day trips worth doing from Guadalajara. One of them being to
Tequila and the other being to Lake Chapala. We wanted to do both of them, but only had time to do one of them. I didn’t know Tequila was even a town until a few months ago when I was in Mexico and looking at a map. You can take a bus to the town of Tequila, but once you get there, you will have to pay for a tour to go ...

Ahhh...tequila and Tequila. Strangely I had never been in my previous excursions into Mexico so it was a must see for this trip. I've been hanging out in Guadalajara and it's just an hour drive from there. I took the carretera libre (free highway) as opposed to the cuota (toll highway) because it's so close and I wanted to check out the towns close to Tequila especially Amatitan, the home of my favourite tequila, Herradura. I arrived just in time for the tour which at ...

Over the years I've had a special love-hate relationship with my old friend, Tequila. We first made each other's acquaintance at university where we partied together. But we had a major fall-out and didn't have contact again for at least seven years. Then one fateful day we bumped into each other by chance. At first we tried to avoid eye contact but we couldn't deny the attraction. Somehow all our troubles were forgotten and we became the best of friends! ...

No trip to Jalisco is complete without a stop in Tequila, the home of Mexico's national tipple.

The town itself a very pretty, with old colonial buildings, a pretty plaza, a pretty church, lots of lots of tequila distilleries, and surrounded by fields and fields of blue agave plants.

Of Tequila's 12 distilleries, 10 of them produce three quarters of Mexico's tequila. With Pepe and Danny we paid ...
