    Tequila Tour

There are a couple day trips worth doing from Guadalajara. One of them being to
Tequila and the other being to Lake Chapala. We wanted to do both of them, but only had time to do one of them. I didn’t know Tequila was even a town until a few months ago when I was in Mexico and looking at a map. You can take a bus to the town of Tequila, but once you get there, you will have to pay for a tour to go ...

Ahhh...tequila and Tequila. Strangely I had never been in my previous excursions into Mexico so it was a must see for this trip. I've been hanging out in Guadalajara and it's just an hour drive from there. I took the carretera libre (free highway) as opposed to the cuota (toll highway) because it's so close and I wanted to check out the towns close to Tequila especially Amatitan, the home of my favourite tequila, Herradura. I arrived just in time for the tour which at ...

We decided to make the 45-minute drive to Tequila after a short debate on whether we should stay in Guadalajara for the night. We called the inn we found earlier that day and wasted no more time. It's tiny 6-room B&B right off the church and around corner from the Jose Cuervo. The staff and the rooms were so charming! The only downside was the breakfast selection of coffee, hard toast and cereal. You'll want to eat elsewhere. There's a ...

Over the years I've had a special love-hate relationship with my old friend, Tequila. We first made each other's acquaintance at university where we partied together. But we had a major fall-out and didn't have contact again for at least seven years. Then one fateful day we bumped into each other by chance. At first we tried to avoid eye contact but we couldn't deny the attraction. Somehow all our troubles were forgotten and we became the best of friends! ...

    Flexico.

A travel blog entry by lanepelham on Aug 14, 2010

So, I thought I would share some of my more interesting (to me) memories of Mexico, or as I am learning to think of it, Flexico. Hope you all enjoy!

Today we drove up and down and up and down again in order to reach a river. We took a bunch of the youth from our youth group. On the way there we listened to a singer whose name is "Funky" which is basically just Christian Mexican Rap. I have to admit, the songs were quite catchy. Once we arrived at the river we had ...
