      ... count packages, and the packaging states that they should be stored at room temperature (not in the fridge). We had to look at about twenty packages of ham before finding one that was actually 100% pork meat. Many of the packaged ham also had chicken or turkey in it. Cans of tuna are expensive, over $3 US each, so we haven't purchased any of those yet.

      ... we ended up staying 2 nights. There was a great hike into the reserve close by, a lot cooler than the coast but nice to heave a break from the heat, many hummingbirds coming into the sugar feeders, the owner was very friendly and helpful telling us the best places to go. I hope we find more places like this in Costa ...

      ... human activity it's now that is quiet. The leaves of banana trees (plants?) that I can see in the distance are leaning lazily from side to side away from their trunk. Some of them are still dewy, which I find miraculous since the sun has been up since at least 6am. Almost optimistic, yet there it is.
