I am hoping to start my volunteer placement on Wednesday, so that will mean less lounging around, and more "hard work" and I may also have found a footie youth league to help out! really hoping I can pull that one off, as it would be awesome to be able to play while I'm here, i think three months is a little to long to go without it! ...
... shore at all times I assumed that swimming is not their strong point. The water was the perfect temperature and I swam under the waterfall and then found a nice rock a few meters high to jump from into the water. Everything felt amazing as this dream scenery with perfect weather lay all around me as I floated in the clear waters. We decided to climb to the top of the waterfall which proved to be a bit more challenging than it looked; but Ana, Shelby, Isabel and I were not to be stopped ...
... the women to then weave nearby, men building boats, people collecting coconuts, diving for mussels and tending to cows. We even saw a prawn farm - yes Dad, I was very tempted to go in and have a feast. You can cook prawns over a cigarette lighter, can't you? :)
On my return I went for a walk down to Kollam beach, where - as usual - I had a bunch of kids wanting to talk to me and ask about my life. It's so lovely when that happens - the kids are so cute here, ...
