Thanksgiving, the Beach and Ozomatli

This somewhat extended weekend began on Wednesday night with a trip to "La Folie" (the Madness), a bar in town which costs guys 250 pesos (about £13) to enter (girls are free), but then all drinks including whole bottles of name brand spirits cost just 1 peso each (3 pence!) After ensuring we drank our money's worth we returned home around 5am; naturally the next morning was a write-off.

I woke up around 1pm and made my way to the office of the Guadalajara Reporter - Mexico's ...

... feature for data I will be charged up the whaZoo. I know not to use it an already have that portion of the phone disabled. There are a few texts, from Sarah Miller and Ken Greenstein that had not been delivered before we had sailed from San Diego. I zip off replies and a few others to say we’d arrived in PV!

I find Michael up in the gym, and discover you can go out on deck from there to a small observation area under the bridge. As I look ...

Goodbye Clouds

Finally, the reward for living through all of the storm. A beautiful morning - and finally feeling better.

Got off the Ship briefly before we left (total of 20 minutes) to take a few pictures.

Back onboard by 1pm.

At 4pm Classic Disco T-dance (delayed due to our extended stay in PV).

Docked but under the Weather

Arrived in Puerto Vallarta - safe and sound. Rained most of the day. I stayed in bed most fo the day trying to kick the flu.

By nightfall it was a beautiful sunset under clearer skies.

But Mazatlan was closed due to weather - and thus we stayed for another day in PV.

... of March was ready for us. We decided to head to Ajijic the next day but we made sure to stop at Bucerias before we continued on, to say goodbye and have lunch with John and Donna. I know that the Guelph contingent were having a great time in Mexico and I am sure that when they head home they will have lots of nice memories of good food, great weather and some funny Mexican happenings, including our short drop-in all the way from Acapulco.

... Ontario that were visiting their kids in Mexico. After describing our trip to them, one of them made a statement that we both love....."I've been alive a long time, but you guys are living!" Simple words with a strong message. We realize that our adventure is not everyone's idea of living, but the message is there nonetheless. Seize the day! Follow your dreams! Don't wait for tomorrow as nobody knows if there will be a tomorrow ...

... time we looked at or clutched the crystal. For some strange reason, we feel more settled with this new object in hand. The road ahead was only about 25km down Mex Highway 15 to Bucerias. We had received information that Ben C. was in a campground in Bucerias and we went to find him. We again ran into a problem as there were limited road signs and no hint of any marking leading to a campground of RV park in town. After two hours of following directions form ...
