After this shared bond we started talking about all sorts of things, the most comical of which was what they thought of when they thought of America. ... so far with no transportation at all, just walking, and it's been grand. We have another day here tomorrow, and I'll fill you in on our complete Berlin experience when we return to Geneva on Wednesday. I'll also add pictures, since I am unable to do so through Em's iPad.
Until then, we'll be avoiding Hamburg and sampling German beer! Though we're bummed to be missing Norway, we're enjoying our time here and are grateful to have the flexibility of a Eurail pass.

Maybe that aggravation is simply the "low" to the gambler's "high" and I just trade in a different currency than most casinos. The currency of time. Oh. Yeah, and control. I'm sure that has nothing to do with it. ;)
But ultimately I made it home, well to my temporary home while I'm in Amsterdam. So all is well. And I got a (hopefully) entertaining story to share with my blog ...
... she had never met and didn't actually know the name of the family (as it turns out we didn't even stay with them...) and 6. Didn't know the address of where we were staying.
All of this seemed slightly sketchy to the customs interrogator but Lauren being the open, happy, friendly, convincing (and a the time exhausted from running on 6 hours of sleep for the past 3 days) managed to only be delayed slightly.
Longest drive day yet, but we have successfully arrived in the Netherlands. At least, I think we have. I can't really see over all these tall, lanky blondes! Haha. I already feel at home (thanks Holland, MI)!!
En route, we stopped for a traditional Dutch demonstration of wooden clog and cheese making. I'm surprised we weren't told how to grow tulips! Kidding. Tulips actually originated in Turkey. Sorry Holland, MI, you screwed up on that one.
