... with lovely iron work and old lights and evidence of meandering paths and gardens. He loves this kind of thing - seeing how it would have been. Along with this and the mechanics of the funicular he was in 7th heaven looking at it all and snapping some photos along the way.

Back down and we wandered around Como looking at the many old billboard photos of the town from the late 1800's, early 1900's. And once again we loved seeing these ...

... places to eat. Lucy was hungry again. Oh dear. Luckily we didn't stop at one of the restaurants along the canal and walked further where we stumbled upon a large open air market. ... crisp white sheets, a wide screen TV, cascading hot shower complete with big fluffy white towel and free stuff. After washing away my credit card miseries and napping for an hour I proceeded to the bar where I spent the night flirtsciously getting free wine from the hot barman and eating garlic butter mashed potatoes and broccoli.
