... ceiling but we all really enjoyed it. Afterwards we went back to the hostel for lunch and decided to head to the beach. This time Ian decided we should walk the 2.5 kms to the beach which we did and even managed to get a ride on the shovel of a earthmover for part of the way (which I know the taxi drivers weren't happy about!!). When we finally arrived at the beach we all ran into the beautiful turqoise water and enjoyed the amazing Caribbean. A bit later I left the boys and went to the ...
Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico julesjb... all day yesterday. Maybe it had been really bad motion sickness...Mario and I even left the room for breakfast, and I snacked on some dry toast with fresh honeydew melon juice. Donning our bathing suits, we decided to have a lazy day on the beach and no high expectation for what was to come. It is our last day in Mexico, after all, why not just enjoy it?
After a few hours in the sun, reading, I got really tired, so while Mario went for ...
... of the bay. Mario decided to explore beyond the normal boundaries of the path. First, we found ourselves walking behind an old resort-gone-bust which had since been turned residential. Behind that, Mario went exploring a large limestone field, which yielded some great discoveries, such as blow holes spouting water when the big waves hit, and lots of items lost to the same waves, including a matching pair of ...
Akumal, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico skyisblu... but didn't seemed to be bothered by us. I've got to add that there was a lot of people there from several different tour boats and some who had just swam from the Akumal public beach. After the turtles we headed toward the reef area where we saw many types of fish. There was barracuda, squids, jack fish, sea urchins, and many types I can't name. My underwater pictures didn't turn out to good. I suspect the baggage xray for airport security.
Akumal, Mexico borealjk... decision that diving was not for her and has been happily snorkeling ever since. While Kirsten was having this epiphany in a diving centre swimming pool (clearing the mask exercise had been giving her horrible nightmares), Dave was diving in Cozumel at the worlds second largest barrier reef - which unfortunately was heavily damaged (all the big corals were washed away) during hurricane Wilma a couple years ago ...
Akumal, Mexico ccheng... was incredible! A week after id been here Edgar had to move out of his place, so we spent the next week staying in some very random places, including the beach at one point and his mates hippy van some of the other nights. one night one of his friends decided we should go and celebrate the full mon at some music thingy in the forest about 20 minutes away, we hitched there(our usual mode of transport, apart from edgar dubbing me on his bike!) at ...

Tulum, Mexico locaparacristo... back, so don't misconstrue our ABR review to be negative - just honest. That said, there were cracks in the drywall, the bedding had wear and tear (and a B.O. smell) and the plumbing wasn't too good. None of this affected the great time we were about to have - so there you have it. It was a fleeting 1 minute thought for us and that's it. (It took way longer to type that than the time we spent thinking about it there!) Time to put that to rest and get on with the vacation ...
Akumal, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico chanchemuyil... The guy at the desk kept calling me Raymond. I didn't really correct him, because frankly, I knew I was leaving and didn't care to stop him. So I was pretty glad he didn't know my real name. He could never track me down for ruining his A/C! So I decided that for the rest of the trip, I'd go by Raymond. Why not, right? Well the A/C wasn't broken. Just overworked. I hit it a few times and it went back on. Just as I was leaving the hostel too... Before I left though, I made ...
