Not a lot to say about this hotel yet as we have only just arrived. Fiona not happy as there is no bath, only a shower.

Friendlier than you would expect from a city hotel, the hotel is located in the heart of the Miraflores area of Lima. The buffet breakfast was excellent and it's not far from Kennedy Park and other Lima highlights.

    PACHACAMAC
Today we toured the Pachacamac ruins a bit south of Lima. We had no idea of the amount of desert in and around Lima - directly on the Pacific Ocean. The ruins were an incredible surprise - rising from the desert as mounds or "pyramids",, this area was a …

Yesterday was a very long day travelling, but then we have come along way! Up at 4am and arrived at our hotel here at 8pm, that would be your time 1am today. Nothing of interest to report on route apart from a brief 1/1/2hrs enjoyment watching "Paddington", which I thought was quite appropriate. Lima was founded in 1535 by the dastardly Spaniard, …

Since they are on the same latitude, they share many of the same geographical features and animals. The rock formations form a marine sanctuary for the guano bird, blue footed booby, Humboldt penguins …

We vacationed in Myrtle Beach for years as our children were growing up. We decided to explore the world when we became empty nesters. We chose to do this trip while we were relatively young as it involved a lot of step climbing and walking. And we were both fascinated by Incan legends and Machu Picchu. We compared several different itineraries but …
