Stayed at home today, detailing the car and getting ready to hit the road tomorrow. Major Betty cracked her whip and had us working double time to get the Mercedes ship shape for our road trip. We went to Jessica's for lunch before visiting the Greenwood Aviation Museum. Jack Britney offered on be our guide -- reminded us of Rose Coe in many respects. Had some cute stories to tell ...

This excursion took us to OIA, Greece. It is a typical Greek village, located on a high hilltop with narrow streets and white churches with blue domes. ... dangerous if there were cars parked there with people looking at the monument or worse, people crossing the road (if they were going in the opposite direction). Marc told us that part of the lore about the accident is that the other person in the car with James Dean warned him about an oncoming car, and James' last words were, "Donn't worry, he sees us."

Not too far past the James Dean Memorial is Grapevine Hill, immortalized in the Commander Cody song ...

... is a huge rock in the harbour. We have a photo of my mum and her sister which was taken there on the trip that my mum died on, and I wanted to go to that place - she looked like she was having such fun. We strolled around the town for a while and looked for dinner - but every restaurant was a fish restaurant.

... if you did it naked boys and topless girls. It could have been anywhere in the world. It was interesting to see but I was happier going back to the room then joining in. Unfortunately I think phi phi at night is for those that can drink and as I can't I missed out that side. I am so excited to be going to Bali in a few days and helping. Going to be out of my comfort zone but that's when you learn what you are capable of.... which I'm learning is a lot ...
