Beyond description! This place is it!
The Casa Del Mar and its unbelievable staff were incredible! After many hours on the internet trying to determine were to stay when every hotel on the island sounded so good, I made the perfect choice. Our five night stay was way to short. We've stayed at many 4/5-star hotels, but never felt the attentiveness we did at Casa Del Mar. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating. Our room (not one of the suites) was great. Though no worries about that, every room at the casa Del Mar not only faces the sea, but is 10 paces from the beach, and literally 30 paces from the water. Also, with just 29 rooms (and the hotel being full during our stay), we never waited for a table in the restaurant, a lounge at the pool or beach, or a stool at the bar. The spectacular sunset that came daily was postcard quality. One day we hired the resort owned boat with captain and crew for a private island hopping tour. Total cost of RM 400 for six hours, which included a picnic lunch on an uninhabited island all by ourselves. The sights and scenery were breathtaking. One night after arriving back at the hotel late (about 23:00) and hungry, we found that the restaurant was closed. Upon inquiry, the manager reopened the kitchen and then set a table out on the beach and proceeded to serve us the best meal we ate the whole time we were there. I must say, we have never before left a hotel and felt like we had just left a friend's home, until our departure from the Casa Del Mar. We are not sure when we will be returning to Langkawi, but when we do, we will be staying at the Casa Del Mar. Special thanks to Andrew, Sandi, Susan, Wira, Amir, Jalal, "Smiley", Wan and the rest of tireless staff at the Casa Del Mar.

Small and Friendly
I was originally booked into one of the large resort hotels on Langkawi, but read a few 'iffy' reviews in Tripadvisor, and switched to the Casa del Mar. I was really glad we did this.
Resort hotels on Langkawi seem to range from the magnificent, down to the average. But they are all very isolated and you are rather stuck in the resort unless you start transporting around. The Casa del Mar is small and personal, about 40 rooms niceley equipped and furnished. There is but one pool and only one restaurant. The setting is splendid, and you can take dinner at a table on the beach. The food is very good. For a change you can walk next door, and try lobster thermidor for £11 in you shorts and bare feet. Or go up the road to the Bon Ton which is a super restaurant.
The Casa has a small spa. The staff quickly get to know you. Just one small point - avoid the rooms at the end of the block, as they can pick up a small amount of noise from the road, or the reggae bar down the beach.
Langkawi is very laid back and surprisingly underdeveloped. It may be duty-free, but the retail experience in Kuah is not exciting, although there is a good craft centre in the North of the island. Car rental is easy, with little traffic and cheap petrol, and taxis are very affordable. It is difficult to spend lots of money, but for a civilised chill-out, I recommend it.
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at Casa Del Mar and can simply say it was perfect. The hotel and outlook are beautiful. The staff at the hotel are the best I have ever encountered, they are friendly, informative and nothing is ever too much trouble. The personal touches are brilliant, afforded by the small number of rooms and guests and the staff and management attitudes. Our fist time in Langkawi and the island is amazing, but the Casa Del Mar itself will be our greatest lasting memory of the trip. If you are thinking of staying anywhere else... don't !!
We stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon and loved it. The standard of the whole hotel was very high and the service was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome.
Our Memorable Wedding
Our wedding was in May 02. It was the shoulder season towards the peak where summer vacationers from the west would be flocking to the tropical islands like Langkawi. Our stay was about a week. This boutique hotel is smallish in size, centrally located and is highly recommended for couples looking for a tranquil holiday amidst the luxury of high standards of service from the hotel.
In all, we had 21 guests with us for the beachside wedding as planned. The rooms were fantastic, very unique, simple and tastefully designed. Housekeeping was excellent as the little touches that counts were noted by the team in Casa Del Mar under the then manager, Krishna. We tried the spa which was good but we understand that a new spa center will be ready soon! The restaurant serves up meals which are of a fusion of Med and Japanese taste. Our Wedding dinner was fantastic as far as I remember!! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food and music the whole night...accompanied by the magnificent sunset and thereafter the thunderous roar of tropical rain that swept Langkawi now and then. It was marvelous as our photographer managed to capture the moments in differing lighting conditions. Till today, we are reminded by our friends of the great time they had and some have returned to stay at the Casa Del Mar.
The entire staff were courteous, thoughtful, efficient in providing the utmost service whilst we were busily preparing ourselves for the day of the wedding. We highly recommend friends and visitors to Langkawi, Malaysia to stay or plan their wedding at the Casa Del Mar and have an experience of a lifetime. We shall be back...
Another Great Hotel on Langkawi
We have just returned from a 5 night stay in a Suite at the Casa Del Mar, our third visit to Langkawi.
Overall our holiday experience was excellent, our accommodation was good and very spacious (to be honest a junior suite would have been plenty big enough). The service was first rate throughout our stay and it certainly appears that all the staff are very focussed on this aspect of their jobs.
The food was also excellent - although we had to ask for some of the Malaysian food to be cooked more "traditionally" as the first couple of dishes we had had been "watered down" a touch to suit Western tastes (a common problem in Malaysian hotels).
The hotel is based on the main (Centai) beach in Langkawi, which whilst pleasant enough is not as good as either Datai or Tanjung Rhu beaches.
Overall though as an excellent cheaper alternative to the Datai or Tanjung Rhu I would find the Casa del Mar hard to beat and would thoroughly recommend it for a quiet, chilled out getaway. Thank you once again for an excellent stay.
Case del mar is fabulous - a great place to chill!
A lovely hotel near the sea with excellent service. The staff go beyond their call of duty. I have never met such friendly and genuine people.
The quality of meals were first class and menu extensive.
We have just returned back from a wonderful stay at the Casa Del Mar Hotel in Langkawi. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay!!!
The location of the hotel is great as it is right on the beach with lots of restaurants, bars, shops and water sports just a short walk away. Rooms all have a sea view and are very clean with a large bathroom. Every day in the room we were given fresh fruit, ground coffee with fresh milk and several bottles of water.
Several times a day whilst sunbathing around the pool the hotel staff brought out iced lemon water, plates of water melon and minty ice cold face towels for all the guests. It was a wonderful touch.
The hotel only has 29 rooms so very small and friendly. All the staff are very polite and exceptionally helpful.
The food in the hotel was amazing!! The service and presentation was second to none and cheap. Definately five stars.
We look forward to staying at the Casa del Mar in the very near future and would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone.
A great hotel
I have just returned from the Casa Del Mar, and i must say it was a great hotel. The level of service we recieved from all the member of staff at the hotel was outstanding.
The hotel itself is in a good location, has a decent size pool, and benefits form having a very acomplished chef!
I would definately recommend this place to my friends, and hope to return here again some day soon!

Incredibly exciting to see – some of these fish were pushing 150-175 lbs and were right in our wake, the short corner rod being only 30 feet back! That evening we are having drinks and the view from Fox Hill overlooks the distant fields being worked by the local farmers. I’m looking forward to getting back there again.
