      ... and an ice cream cone then more Friday afternoon California traffic as we made our way down to Monterey.

      We're staying at the Spindrift Inn, right on Cannery Row, in a room directly over the ocean. I'm sitting here writing this as the sun goes down, sailboats returning from afternoon sails, wine and cheese at my elbow and the waves crashing below. A very worthwhile splurge for a great room.
