Trancoso Friday 1/2 - Monday 1/5/15 We arrived around 9pm to a small pousada called Big Bamboo owned by an Italian couple about our age. The little village and beautiful empty beaches have exploded in popularity over the last 10 years with a young wealthy hipster crowd (not us!). We actually stumbled into part of this hipster crowd at our pousada the first night, as the hotel owner told us we were lucky to come at the same as Gusttavo Lima, a famous Brazillian singer, hanging out ...

... at all. I do kind of like it though. It makes it seem all natural.
Lastly I went to the Quadrado in Trancoso. It was a place to learn more about the History of the town, and there were a bunch of different shops there as well. It is known as one of the places where Brazil started. It is where the language of portugese started.
And that was the end of my day! I can't wait for what tomorrow brings me. ...

... of Vodka and Bourbon. Being the connoisseur of all things boozey I immediately want to try this new drinking 'experience'. I pay my 10 reals (bargain) and start sucking. The booze seems to go on forever. I'm practically choking but the hit reminds of teenage years knocking back After-Shock and Goldchlager. Truly, it was a great ten seconds. (I think there may be a video of this and I will endeavour to retrieve it from Jeffrey).

... locals and their lorries, cars and bikes and took the 10 minute ride to the other side. There a taxi ran us to the hostel ... And we came across our first real basic accommodation. The hostel fits perfectly into the slightly hippie vibe we first encountered in Arrial and whilst we had absolutely no complaints the private 3 bed room we'd been looking forward to was literally a room with a double and single bed, and a padlock on the door.
