We had arrived quite late last night so we had a later start this morning. Breakfast was provided so we made our way downstairs for that. There seemed to be mostly Italians in the room. There was cereal, croissants, biscuits, fruit etc for breakfast. They also made you tea or coffee if you wanted it. They didn't really speak much English though!

After breakfast we packed our stuff up, I did some of my blog and then we headed out to Turin where we ...

What a quiet night – it's truly lovely here. And then breakfast was outside on the terrace looking over the lake. Cinzia gave us a good selection of cereal and breads with ham and made us a great local pear cake which was yummy. We set out for a walk to the old centre of town. Alas, we had missed Mass there by about half an hour. There was a flower vendor outside and I couldn't quite understand ...

Slight change of plans - we left Roma at 2pm driving out easily - thank you Sarina (Tomtom) and headed for Asti - Guido navigated the autostrada like a champ and no wrong turns thru the crazy Genoa labyrinth of tunnels. Got in at about 9pm and headed out for some sparkles and dinner.
Gianni and Luca looked after Gran and Papa Tuesday morning visiting the local market and exploring the medieval centre of beautiful Asti. Guido and I headed off to attend a family funeral nearby. Sad ...
