Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...

... chose the route to Mt. Mitchell via Blue Ridge Pkwy. However, partway along, we found that the road was closed. So today Zach, Malfi, Mom, Dad, and me drove down to visit Chimney Rock. First, we went to the "flower" bridge on the outskirts of the town, it had lots of nice, blooming flowers and cute decorations. Lots of photo ops! Dad and Mom then went shopping in the town while Dad let me drive his car up to the Chimney Rock park. I was a bit nervous driving his uber expensive ...

The morning after our stay in the terrific Alpen Acres motel, Stef had a visitor come to bid her a safe journey, a super affectionate cat. Well, she was affectionate to Stef anyway! Whilst Stef was lapping up all the pats and rubs, shortly afterwards I too was enjoying some loving from this super affectionate kitty. Until the point I was used as a sparring partner, being bopped left right & centre from the midst of a purring coma. Bloody cats, so unpredictable! ...
