... Then we happened upon "Art on the River" - a whole area filled with a wide variety of artists. We ate lunch at "Clingman's Cafe" and sat outside on a sunny patio - lovely! We spent the rest of the day exploring the artists' studios and meeting the artists. We returned home for a bit of down time and then a pot luck dinner with Jim and Sue in our NEW HOME. We'll add more pics as we download them from the ...

We left this morning around 8:50 - travelling to Ashville today. It was a lovely drive through the mountains. More colour in the trees than what we saw in the park. 15 degrees today!! Arrived at Lake Powhatan State park near Ashville around noon. Found 2 campsites, set up camp, had lunch and headed out for a hike on Mt. Mitchell. We wanted to go to the top of the highest point in the eastern states ( Mt. Mitchell 6647ft high). Upon ...

A scramble path leads down to the base and there was rope tied to trees for assistance. At the base, we could see both ...

So today Zach, Malfi, Mom, Dad, and me drove down to visit Chimney Rock. First, we went to the "flower" bridge on the outskirts of the town, it had lots of nice, blooming flowers and cute decorations. Lots of photo ops! Dad and Mom then went shopping in the town while Dad let me drive his car up to the Chimney Rock park. I was a bit nervous driving his uber expensive ...

The morning after our stay in the terrific Alpen Acres motel, Stef had a visitor come to bid her a safe journey, a super affectionate cat. Well, she was affectionate to Stef anyway! Whilst Stef was lapping up all the pats and rubs, shortly afterwards I too was enjoying some loving from this super affectionate kitty. Until the point I was used as a sparring partner, being bopped left right & centre from the midst of a purring coma. Bloody cats, so unpredictable! ...
