Several vendors were selling Christmas ornaments and crafts. A few vendors were selling everything from nuts to pretzels. One very popular vendor offered warm wine in small ceramic keepsake mugs. We waded through the crowd to get our wine. It was quite good. Near the entry to that vendor was a German band. They played several Christmas favorites while we stood and listened.

Thinking of all our options, in the end we decided to drive back - mostly because we had no number to call - and hope we could get the clothes. ... a seat around the bar. A couple of drinks and nibbles at rather expensive prices but hey it was worth it for the views and the photo opportunities. A few of us oldies may remember the Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot who had a particularly eerie song called the " wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" and remembering that I had to a have a beer by the Great Lakes Brewing Company called the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Time to head back to the hotel for a coffee and a good night catch up ...

Went to the movies and saw The Book Thief, one of the best films we've seen for a long time,
(despite having Geoffrey Rush in it.) The theatre was crowded, and I was seated next to a consumptive, so I suppose my cold will come back. It was bitingly cold waiting for the bus after a few hours in ...
... lost and we didn't really go out of our way just a different way. Up those three escalators and we are safely on our train and back to Oak Park just before dark. Now just up the road from our hotel we have spotted a place called Marion Street Cheese Market, that sounds like something we should check out, I'm sure all you wine and cheese lovers agree. We stop in at the hotel to freshen up and see what the others are up to but can't find anyone so the two of us ...
