... 96 US in Cartagena. Of course we had a really good deal because we shared a container. Fees would have been about double that if we didn´t share. If you want me to answer any questions please drop us a line and we´ll get back to you as soon as possible.

We spent a few more days in Cartagena enjoying the old town, street food, and general ambiance. It was a wonderful old town but we were ready to hit the road and see what the rest of Colombia had to offer.
Cartagena, Colombia cmedancing... Spanish colonial town. We had some good food at La Perla and some bad food at Enoteca (but we really were craving Italian that night). The best meal was out our hotel (Hotel LM). We hung out in the kitchen and watched the chef prepare delicious fish ceviche and our main course of lobster, shrimp, and fish. It was a highlight of the trip for sure. We went to ...
Cartagena, Colombia travelbee... high at best, climbed the stairs and jumped in. The guys in the mud pit give you a massage, then you sit around for 10-15 minutes playing in the mud. It was a pretty weird sensation as you float like a cork and its impossible to get your whole body under.

Stupidly I pushed myself right under using the ladder you climb out on. Remind me never to do this again. End result: mud in my eyes, blind for about 10 minutes!

Got out and went to the lake to wash off. They have ladies ...
Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia solskjaer20We landed at Cartagena at about 4 in the morning and as soon as we enter the calm of the harbour I start to feel better.
During the storm one of the bikes had fallen over and on of the front nets/hammocks at the front of the boat had been ripped off.
I am up and about at 5 watching the sun come up over Cartagena and flocks of pelicans in V formation streaking out to sea. As it gets lighter the water taxis start plying their trade with their bows ...
Cartagena, Colombia pearcy... to be just around the corner... I thought I wont panic yet, but if shes not back within the hour, will go adn wake Augusta. I had already tried to speak to the receptionist the day before, but my **** Spanish and his bad English meant we were getting nowhere quickly, at least Augusta could ask him where the damn club was if anything...
At 6 she still wasnt back and with a rising nervousness of 'how the hell could I let her go off with some random Columbian we had only ...
Cartagena, Colombia sara.a... people in a hotel saw it fall out of a tree and left it for a day for the mother to collect since it was left they collected it and took it to the sanctuary. In all another very interesting tour. After lunch we drove about 4 kms back to get to a place we had been told we could stop. It is a bit of beach called the Painted Palms( N9.50.81 W82.56.77), a very apt name since the entire palm trees are painted in about 15 different bright colours. On asking we found we ...
Outside Puerto Limon, Costa Rica mikeandmary... 2 fingered and 3 fingered types which are different species...no interbreeding; fingered not toed is the correct term; 2 fingered are omnivores while 3 toed are herbivores; they sleep for 18-20 hours a day; they are solitary animals only getting together to mate; they are clumsy on land but are good swimmers; they can live too about 30 years; they have great self-healing powers; they come down trees one a week to do the toilet; they don't ...
Limon, Costa Rica skcollFrom Tortoguero, we set off for a 3 hour boat ride along the river and canals heading south to the beach towns of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. The ride was long and the engine was loud, but it was fun to go such a long way on the water with beautiful scenery all around us and to be serenaded by the group of Italians on our boat singing extra loud to be heard over the engine noise. When we got in to the port at Moin, some taxis were waiting to take us to Cahuita and Puerto ...
Puerto Viejo deTalamanca, Costa Rica phoedoMy Austrian friend from Tortuguero made it down here and we´ve been hanging out along with another guy I met from Germany. This here are really slow moving which is great but there not a whole lot to do down here. The hostel we are staying at has a big room full of hammocks you can rent instead of a bed. My friend from Austria stayed in there last night. HE said he actually got a ...
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Costa Rica allieadventuresWhen I vacationed in Costa Rica 5 years ago I was a little underwhelmed, as I found it to be beautiful but a bit culturally bland. But this time around, on the camping circuit, Costa Rica (July 13-30) was a little taste of paradise, especially after the austere conditions in Nicaragua. Pretty much everything about it worked for us from the low-cost ($4 to $6) but good quality places to camp, to the well-stocked grocery stores, to the good roads, to the ...
