We said a tearful farewell to Steve this morning, having breakfasted on bagels and salmon . Bev had a great nights sleep and we're all set for an airport day. Looking forward to more delta movies. We are sat in a Chicago Blackhawks bar watching the United West Ham game. It's a real miss not having premier league in the USA , though a surprising amount of cab drivers and service staff have shown great knowledge of the beautiful game. As anyone who's ever flown thru O'Hare knows, it can be the delay capital of the planet. This trip was no exception, as we were informed of delay after delay for four hours until they decided to take our plane out of service at 9 pm. We were put up for the night (sans luggage), given food vouchers and the expectation of departing the next morning. Given the alternative of a 9 hr flight with no water (read no lavatory) we couldnt complain too loudly. We report to the gate ...
