... and didn't even have time to put it back on. Ok - flight says Miami gate 16, and we arrive at Gate 16 and it is EMPTY. ****. But then, oddly, 40 people come up behind us, including a crew and a customer service agent. Henry runs ahead. Is this Miami? (it SAYS Miami) and she says no, New Zealand. Well, where the HELL is Miami??? She says, oh, gate 15. We can see Gate 15, it is empty too. Let this be a lesson to you. Never go to the Santiago Airport. So we look on the board ...

I'm heading off to Australia tonight. I will be going to Australia, Fiji, Vanuatu, and other points unknown. But before I do, I have 22 hours of flying. Economy class. Thanks Celebrity- I love you, too. This is the start of my 2nd installment of the Travel Blog. At this point in my life, I've been to all 7 continents and over 65 countries. Too bad I didn't start 15 years ago! Oh yes. Blogging didn't exist then. Better late.... See you in a few days. Enjoy Monday. I'll miss it ...

Turns out I got myself into what my doctor is calling a stress fracture in my tibia. I'm hoping the ...

And so the adventure begins...

As anyone who's ever flown thru O'Hare knows, it can be the delay capital of the planet. This trip was no exception, as we were informed of delay after delay for four hours until they decided to take our plane out of service at 9 pm. We were put up for the night (sans luggage), given food vouchers and the expectation of departing the next morning. Given the alternative of a 9 hr flight with no water (read no lavatory) we couldnt complain too loudly. We report to the gate ...

... Louis barely exists. There is a casino and nothing else. Most people who could have moved out. Gangs and drug dealers roam the lawless, abandoned, non-paved streets. The authorities don't care. Trees were growing through the walls of buildings on the main drag. It is second only to Camden, New Jersey, on the list of places I do not want to stop.

I rode around. The GPS directed me to several ghost gas stations. Finally one existed where the GPS said it would be. I put in ...
