      ... up some quite challenging and hairy (as in precarious, not literally hairy) trails to halfway up the northern side of the valley where the Yosemite Falls plunges snow melt 2425 feet from top to bottom - the highest waterfall in North America.       ... mountains farther north were open, but required chains on all tires. There was no way across the mountains for us that did not require an extended drive. The passes were going be closed for several days. We had to give up on Yosemite.

      Dude...standing here, surrounded by nothing than stones, far away hills, and probably a million rattlesnakes, is an experience I've never had before...
