We leave this afternoon to drive back to Sydney before catching our flight to Perth tomorrow at midday. Pete's "kids" are coming round before we go - but it is really going to be hard to leave! We know we still have much to enjoy on our trip, but ...

Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia newbloggerWagga Wagga After delaying our departure 1 day we spent the first night away at the Rossiter family guest house and spend a great quick night over a couple of beers and a home made Rossiter Pizza. Great to catch up with friends and this will be one thing both Rebecca, myself and the kids will find the hardest over the next 10 months To all the people we missed on the way north we will catch up with on the way south next year
Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia middletonfamily... to drop off our bags and had a nice chat with the rail employee. It never ceases to amaze me how nice people are! Then we headed to breakfast at a place called Mick's Bakehouse, where we had an amazing breakfast. If any of you ever make it through to Wagga Wagga, you have to stop at Mick's. The food was fantastic. And then we went to the railroad station to head to Canberra. Tune in later for more on Canberra.
Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia moppet77... across the river and headed uphill at a fair lick (with a couple of very scenic pee-stops en-route!) It was colder than I had imagined Australia could be when we stopped to refuel on gummy snakes, with a stunning view down over the frozen lake below. The sky was clear and bright, with the sunlight sparkling on the surface ripples and glinting off patches of snow, while layers of mountains faded away towards the horizon. As we ...
Mount Kosciuszko, Australia fishtails04... I stood there with my cuppa scoping another climb when I spied a gate to the alley. It was unlocked. Joy. I walked around to the front and let myself in with the code. After saying a loud goodbye to everyone at the Mildura Stopover I headed into town. Furnished with a road atlas, and fortified with a bacon and egg roll from the Cafe De La Rue, I hit the road. I didn't take to direct Sturt Highway for the first part of the drive but realised I should have done when I ...

We decided to take a ride to see where best to take photographs. The layout is quite extensive and well thought out - it runs between the Botanical Gardens and the Zoo, to the ...
Wagga Wagga, Australia newtripper... with amusement as I backed the van into the site, especially as I put it exactly where I wanted it first go, which unfortunately was the wrong side of the site - brain dead again. The guy opposite (Lloyd) was friendly and moved his car for me so I could pull forward and back into the other side. Took a few goes - sorry Clynton. But eventually it was in place. The lady (Jenny) could not believe that a women would attempt to reverse a van into a site!! We were so ...
