Calgary, Alberta, Canada pwong... It was great to see old friends and to hear first hand how this whole system works. We left Don and Diane about noon and we headed off to Calgary through the wheat fields and ranches and arrived at Brian’s brother’s about 4 pm. The next week will be spent with family.
Calgary, Alberta, Canada rosemarysNow that the weather has improved, it was time for us to leave Waterton Lakes National Park and head north. We arrived in Calgary. Our RV park is next to the Olympic Village. Many of the Olympic events of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics were held there. It is amazing that they could squeeze all of these events (ski jumping, moguls, snowboarding, all of the sleds) on a small hillside in suburban Calgary. The alpine and cross country events ...
Calgary, Alberta, Canada 2jgstl... for buses to the city so might have something more exciting to report back later hopefully. Oh and looking around for jobs and stuff. Yay. Can't get over the driving here... it's amazing! Someone was smart enough to make a rule that if it's safe you can turn on a red light. Oh and if you're walking, regardless of whether or not you're at a crossing, if you want to cross the road, EVERYONE stops. It's brilliant! So anyways... that's it... haha
Calgary, Alberta, Canada loz189Salir Corriendo - it's actually the name of a Spanish-language song I first heard this past winter in the Canary Islands. The translation is "running away" - something I've grown quite accustomed to doing; it's something I always feel compelled to do. What am I always running from? It depends - people, places, things, situations ... and sometimes all of the above. The need to travel has become a biological ...
Calgary, Alberta, Canada pwong... sold oot at this stage of the season. We watched them play well and they managed to win 3-2 away. Having previously furnished Steve with my spare room and a bed at Edinburgh comedy weekends he kindly returned the favour and for the first time in months I slept in a real bed. It had a soft pillow, the mattress offers some support, I could stretch oot, my feet weren't restricted by planks of wood and there wasn't at least 3 other people in the room. Luxury!
Calgary, Alberta, Canada paulleck1975... McGee walks up and says "Hi there boys". Jerrod twists his face into a rictus of anger and says, "What in the sweet french fried **** is wrong with the heat in here?" Slippery Steven (formerly known as Fruitcup McGee) replies, "Yeah I know right? I'm soooo chilly oh my gawd!" He then pirouetted, flicked his bangs out of his eyes, clicked his ruby slippers and dissappeared in a poof of Chanel #5. Poof. I threw a large caulking gun at ...
Calgary, Alberta, Canada gunslinger22... trail (that is what cute hats are for), but you will want nice hair when you go for dinner when back in Cusco. 11. If you have problems with your knees (or they are just old knees like mine) know that the stairs are killer and invest in a good knee brace and wear it whenever you are hiking. I wish that I had brought two as both of my knees were really hurting on day three. 3500 Inca Stairs in one day is no joke when you are hurting. Remember there are ...

Calgary, Alberta, Canada hoxito... in Calgary, about 300 km (190 miles) south of Edmonton. The next weekend saw us back at my parents, before one more weekend in Edmonton to meet up with Tamalyn's cousins, and take in the Heritage Days festival in Edmonton. Heritage Days is a festival celebrating Edmonton and Alberta's multicultural backgrounds. There were over 40 exhibits which featured ethnic food and cultural displays from around the world. We made one more trip up north and ...
