We have had a long weekend for Id (8th-11th Aug) and I had been planning to go on a long bike ride for a couple of months. The machine up for the task was my customized 2012 Bajaj Pulsar 220dtsi!
So the trip started from Jakarta on 9th (i was sick as a dog on 6th & 7th and had to rest on 8th) at 0500. The busy Jakarta roads were empty …
... has been early to anything. Normally time is of no importance to Indonesian’s, things happen when they happen. So at 7.30 on the dot it was into a blue bird taxi and to Gambir train station, the biggest station in Jakarta. With passports out and ready getting through to the platform was easy and after a short wait for our train we were ready to leave. The train journey from Jakarta to Bandung offers some beautiful scenery. On the right side are rolling mountains and on ...
... to a 4 star hotel and is a little above our budget, luckily the receptionist seems to want us to have a deluxe room and comes down 25% in price whilst we are mulling it over. Result, we even have a hairdryer!
That night we walk to find some dinner and end up in a bakery, it's the first place we've been in a while where none of the staff know any English. We must get better at bahasa, the local language.
After dinner we chill and sleep very ...

Sean picked us all up just after 10am and we drove down with his driver and son to the centre of Bandung.
I sometimes find that I forget how lucky Kyle and I are to be living up on the mountain in Cigadung. We're surrounded ...

Stayed here for one night after 12 hours of motorcycle riding from Jakarta via Tangkuban Perahu. Check in was straightforward (had booked through booking.com), food was good (actually a lot for the money i paid i think, and delicious). Room was great; was on 9th floor and had the best view bandung has to offer.
Only downside of my stay here and why i am not giving 5stars is, overnight they moved my motorcycle (a custom Pulsar220 tourer) from where i had parked, to make way for some SUV. the reason i feel annoyed is that moving that bike with the handlebars locked implies that they must have dragged it - i am not too happy about it. Better be careful the next time.
