We have had a long weekend for Id (8th-11th Aug) and I had been planning to go on a long bike ride for a couple of months. The machine up for the task was my customized 2012 Bajaj Pulsar 220dtsi!
So the trip started from Jakarta on 9th (i was sick as a dog on 6th & 7th and had to rest on 8th) at 0500. The busy Jakarta roads were empty …
... that I am familiar with and are pretty basic when it comes to soccer fans.
Flares, fireworks and burning seats - these are things that I was not familiar with and are not very basic for me.
As the game moved on, the Papua team we were against were pretty tough, and seemed to be trained by Italians (yes, I'm referencing their ability to dive and clutch somewhere on their body). This made the game a little slow at times, and it was hard to focus ...
... decided on a small canteen style restaurant which had everything pre cooked and sitting in the window. (For how long we were not sure)The menu was simple; a cup of rice with some yellow stuff on it, next to some green leafy stuff, a spoon full if chili, and a choice of meat (chicken, lamb, squid, fish, and unknown). I played it safe and had the lamb, and flo had the lamb and ...
Up relatively early, had set the alarm for 06:00, but woke at 05:25! We had to leave by 07:15 to catch the 08:20 train to Bandung - 3 hours on luxurious train, huge amounts of leg room, seats that rotate to the direction of travel, tea/ coffee on request. Sat with Yasmin chatting about each others lives. On arrival in Bandung it was a short walk to our hotel Serena. Initially Yasmin and I were offered a double bed, we declined and gave it to Helen and Paul who ...
... Bombs going on, but whatevs!
Sunday, August 19th was the official end of Ramadan so there was unfortunately pretty much nothing to do. Alas! The entire city was shut down, which was quite unexpected. We didn’t know it was the actual day though, but we had spent most of the day indoors watching TV shows and movies that Banks had brought along in his ‘bomb’ of a hard drive. When we finally decided to be productive and go ...
How has this hotel rated in the past?
Stayed here for one night after 12 hours of motorcycle riding from Jakarta via Tangkuban Perahu. Check in was straightforward (had booked through booking.com), food was good (actually a lot for the money i paid i think, and delicious). Room was great; was on 9th floor and had the best view bandung has to offer.
Only downside of my stay here and why i am not giving 5stars is, overnight they moved my motorcycle (a custom Pulsar220 tourer) from where i had parked, to make way for some SUV. the reason i feel annoyed is that moving that bike with the handlebars locked implies that they must have dragged it - i am not too happy about it. Better be careful the next time.
