I love to travel. I'm sure, if you are reading this, that we have that in common. I am not rich by any means but I feel like life is short and I should experience adventures now instead of waiting a whole lifetime and trying to do everything when I am older and may not be able to enjoy it as much.

Left Bloomington and rejoined the original road after a short stint on the interstate. Followed Route 66 as it wound it's way past McLean before making a stop in Atlanta. I was very fortunate to arrive at the right time to be allowed to see the inside working of the clock tower just prior to the chimes for 10am. The clock is hand-wound and there are a team of volunteers who are tasked with ensuring it ...

... just seemed the get hotter the further across we went but sure we will never be done complaining. Staying at the statehouse inn in Springfield which looks quite ugly on the outside but inside its lovely with your own bathrobes and a very retro bedroom. Went out for din dins n ended up in a mickey d's as some parts of the city looked dodgy as and I didn't feel the need to get held up at knife point so early on in the trip ...
