    ... worth the price and the words “Eggs Benny”. So after I rolled my eyes, had an internal monologue bemoan the fact that the menu designer had put that on the menu, and waited for a bit with no hostess scurrying forth I gave up and headed over to Starbucks. I had meant to get a coffee while I was in Portland but my part of the terminal did not have one. Which had me a bit worried because I had earned a free coffee and I hated the idea of that reward going unclaimed. ...

    ... stay in touch with Dong, who tells me in a message later that I am his first foreign friend. With the train running an hour or so late (for old time's sake I suppose), there is just time for a quick commemorative photo in Shenzhen before he heads out to meet his brother.

    I take my place in the queue at the border to leave Mainland China for Hong Kong and the end of the line.

    ... these last two years, but it was definitely a good experience. I hope my stories and photos have been interesting for you all. I'm glad to have been able to share them with you. I will start a new blog for my next adventure coming in August...
    In Chinese to say goodbye you say 在见 (zaijian), which literally means 'see (you) again', so everytime I leave China it is not goodbye, it is see you next time.

    On the Friday morning us foreign teachers performed 'Uptown Girl' in front of the school as part of the English show - all the grades sung their own song. We then got given presents by the principal, which are beautiful - blue and white decorated notebooks, USB sticks, pens, and card holders. Then Cherry (our boss) told us we had been the best interns yet - she probably had to say that, but ...

    ... no AC. For me, it was the demands of Mastery Learning with a heavy curriculum and the constant extras added on. I grew very fond of my class, though, and they made everything worthwhile :)
