... has recently changed hands and has been undergoing renovation, and it was it's first night. Had a scrumptious rib-eye steak with mashed potato (of course) and salad, followed by "Wexford strawberries and pavlova". Ron had apple and rhubarb crumble. Both desserts had a decided Kiwi ring to them. Funny how we've noticed pavlova on lots of menus, and thought "what's with that?". The pub was friendly and one of the nicest we've been in.

Up early this morning. Too early for our English breakfast. Drove to the ferry port at Holyhead. Loaded the car on and went into the lounge to enjoy the 3.5 hour trip. We disembarked at Dublin and drove through sometimes very heavy rain to Kilkenny (home of the Tobin clan). First stop was Kilkenny castle. Spent the morning in Killarney national Park. First we saw Ross Castle from the 1300s with additions and renos through the 1500s, 1700s, 1800s. One of the owners didn't want to pay taxes so he took the roof off and let it go to bits. It was a home, a barrick, and now just a pretty tourist attraction.
