... the Swiss soldiers who died defending the French royals in Paris. Unfortunately it was so dark and the lights were not on so we could only see an indistinct shape in the cliff. And make it out for the blink of an eye when a flash went off. We gave up after a few minutes and made our way back to the coach to check in to our hotel.

To be fair, it was late, and she was tired.

... snow soon. Arrived Lucerne, Switzerland at 4.30pm. Saw the 'sad lion' a commemorative carving in rock for the 7000 Swiss guards who lost their lives trying to save France's Royal family. It's a beautiful carving. Lucerne is a beautiful city. Bob and I walked to the chapel bridge this afternoon. We will investigate the town more tomorrow and post photos of the town. ... from the surrounding trees. Enjoyed this fare in the quite and tranquil grounds and views one of the original storehouses, dated back to 1632. These houses generally stores grains and cheeses, and this one in particular still did until 1980!
