Back at the St. Brides Spa Hotel in Saundersfoot.
Unfortunately, winter doesn't make this the best place to stay. It's dark when you are at the hotel, so you don't get the views. And the spa doesn't stay open late enough in the winter. At least I will get to enjoy it over the weekend.
And the walk along the coast - kind of scary in the dark. But you do get to see a bunch of stars and parts of the Milky Way because there isn't much light pollution out here.
Saundersfoot, Wales, United Kingdom nahury1Ok, this is just a quick check that all is running smoothly with the blog, as I've had some problems. Hopefully You're all now getting e mail updates when a new entry is posted. We've also retrieved the log in details for the travelpod account we created last year so that you can log in and make (nice!) comments. Well done ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom cusan... exactly helped; how inconvenient! Anyway, everything is now booked; flights, cat into cattery, rental car to airport, Gatwick hotel, car hire in the US, 4 US hotels, 2 US houses, 1 US condo, and rental car from airport. Now I have to think about packing.......
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom cusanWe woke up in our swanky hotel room the day after our fantastic wedding. We had spent two days celebrating with all of our closest freinds and family. It had been an emotional roller coaster of a weekend (for me anyway) and we were both exhausted... Today was going to be excruciatingly long and hung over!...
Simons only job during the preparation was to organise the honeymoon and keep the destination a secret ...
Ammanford, Wales, United Kingdom dell_abbsBooked with Clyne Farms to go horse-back riding on the beach. But first we had to get our skills evaluated because when the horses see the wide open expanse of beach, they want to gallop. I was all for this. But it wasn't meant to be apparently. I've never ridden an English saddle before and it's been years since I've ridden a horse. Same with Jacqui. So the instructor said she ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom big_red_truck... people's walking around nesting season more closely.

I could not believe how packed the town of Rhossili had become while we were at Worms Head. Which was a shame as it took away the eerie feeling of the skeletal remains of the Helvetica ship wreck on an almost deserted beach. It also meant that I could not try some ****** at the local shop. No, ****** is not a rude word but a traditional dish found mainly in ...
Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom nixsboys... excavated as well as the museum which had some interesting things in it. I wouldn't want to stay in this town for a really long period of time as there is not really that much there. It was very cute and quaint though.

We then set off for London and arrived late afternoon where i said good bye to all my new friends and headed off to Fulham to stay with Jade for a few nights before setting off again.
Carmarthen, Wales, United Kingdom alanna.hollowaySo our first stop this morning was yet another castle ruins. This was set in the middle of nowhere with lots of sheep about but was quitenice and had good views of the surrounding countryside. The castle was verymuch like all the other castle i have seen before (the name for this one iscastle-y-bere).

We then went to the Eden valley to have a look at the dams which supply thewater to Birmingham. This was a pretty impressive dam and i wandered down tohave a bit of a look ...
Carmarthen, Wales, United Kingdom alanna.hollowayOf course, the ideal way to pass the day after a 100km mountain bike ride is to walk up the highest peak in the Beacons, so after a lovely cooked breakfast at the Canal Bridge Café, we loaded up the car then parked at the bottom of Pen y Fan and set off to walk up. It's not that bad a walk, and the views are great: typically Beacons, with big, rolling, grassy hills.

Our ...
Llandeilo, Wales, United Kingdom mike.griffin... I guess Rhys (the frisbee captian) heard that its my birthday wednesday and put that in the email he sent out with the details of the practice. Then I've been planning a potluck dinner with the friends I've made here and I'm excited to sit down and eat a real meal. I'm making banana bread tonight for the occasion. =) I'm being distracted now by people around.. off to go be in the moment. =D
