One other interesting note, in it's day the castle housed one of the largest zoos in North America as Hearst was an animal lover. It was a great day at the castle.

It was definitely a little different then we had drawn up in are heads, but in the end we chalked it up for 4 days of urban camping right outside of Santa Barbra. ... beach. We check it out, they have both full hook-ups and dry camping. The sites are a little expensive, we will think about trying to find a site as they are first come only. We find a place to park and take a walk on the pier. It's now about 6 pm, the evening is clear, warm and perfect for taking a walk. The small town section has some very cute restaurants, shops, and bars facing the ocean, very cool! We head back to our campground and watch TV, then go to bed ...
