... was certainly "Walk like an Egyptian" and "Walking on Sunshine", but also something that looked like "Teddy Bear's Picnic", and others I couldn't identify,so who knows.

It was maybe 35C, so warmer than last year. The military were excused carrying the 10kg weight, and everyone started a quarter of an hour earlier (big deal). Lots of people had hosepipes spraying, although not everyone gave you the choice about how wet you got. I feared for my phone ...

... the campus was a park due to people laying on the grass and playing pick up soccer. I followed the bike trail/ bike road through the campus and couldn't help but admire the openness of the campus. There were plenty of places to sit and lounge! What struck me the most was the lovely canal that ran through the middle of it all. The campus, despite its greenery, is a typical college campus as in there are plenty of dorms and academic buildings trickling around through the ...

... to look after the workers, special Philips schools to train future workers, medical care, etc - all in the 1920's. During the war the factory was taken over by the Nazis to produce for their war effort but Philips kept all their Jewish employees (nearly 400) after Fritz Philips convinced the Nazis of their necessary skills. They were still in a type of concentration camp, and working for the Nazis but ...
