Indian to Pacific...1 Continent, 1 Train, 3 Days

... travel is definitely the best form of travel but unfortunately it is expensive in many cases and unless you’re willing to dive in at the deep end your annual 2 week holiday isn’t going to get you far travelling this way. I am also happy to say that I managed to raise £500 for ‘Help for Heroes’ charity who I dedicated this journey to as a way of paying back the lads I have left behind.

This journey isn’t the whole story but merely a chapter ...

Back to reality - summary of highlights

... luxury of personal recent movie releases to occupy us when sleep didn’t work! It was very odd to wave Rosa goodbye at Auckland airport as she headed to Melbourne. Slight separation anxiety but also both ready to get to our own homes and have our own bedrooms and bathrooms!
Wow, it was a great trip and we saw so many contrasting places, sites, people. Everyone keeps asking what was our favourite place or thing????? Not sure how to select that but in the end I think ...

THE MOM'S - PART II

... seeing about 120 in all.

We also were entertained with the kangaroos. These guys are used to humans so nothing we did bothered them. You walk into a huge fenced in field and are one on one with them. You can feed and pet them. They have gotten a little lazy I think because most of them just sit there and won't move unless you put your hand of food right up into their months. Not all were lazy, ssome were hopping all over the ...

Arriving at Brisbane Airport

The day has finally come for our big trip. Everyone was up really early especially Celise about 5.45. We arrived at the airport and checked in our luggage. Then we had to go through customs and wouldn't you know Haydn was selected for a random frisk search. Now we're just waiting for take off.

Mr Kanga Rooooo

... etc. Anne got to cuddle a koala and may have squeezed to hard. As for the kangaroos, they appear to have no awareness of how they should act in public. I mean we even caught on camera (purely for evidence), one couple at it. They seem to be well designed for it anyhow. I'll not get started on Mr Kanga Rooos equipment. That night we went to an AFl game at the Gabba. Go on the lions. WE beat the ...

On Board Facilities

... In addition there are classes for computers, digital photography and editing, understanding computers (don't make me laugh) camcorder use and editing, all of which attract a £20 fee per person per lesson, (if I only had the patience I'd have a job for life) All in all if your not careful you could end up rushing from one thing to another, forgetting that in most cases you came away to avoid the hustle & bustle and relax ! Oh well I've paid ...

... ones, but they dont tend to bug you too much. the hot evening was spent at the pool. once the evening had set in we watched the bats fly overhead. i thought i would have been a little more creeped out by them but they were actually really neat to watch. When we left Sydney had finally cooled off and the clouds came in providing rain, but here in Brisbane is hot and muggy like all the other places we ...

Merry Christmas

... looking forward to the singing and happy stuff, but it was almost all in italian, therefore I didn't understand a word. and the singing was also in italian, that means I was NOT able to sing with them. I was a little sad. besides that it was really really hot, so it didn't really feel like christmas. So we luckily didn't get the ...
