    ... and supplies, and also do the overdue oil change for our Honda who is such a dependable companion for us on this trip.
    We get to East St. Louis at around 9pm, and settle in a small but clean motel at the Illinois side of St. Louis, East of the Mississippi river. We can already see the famous arch from the distance, which we'll visit tomorrow.

    ... next town, Berlin. Visiting an Amish bakery, a local cheese factory with tasting, the Wendall-August Metal Imprinting shop, and a herritage center to get some more information about the Amish and Mennonite culture.



    People in this area are extremely crafty, lots of local produce, hand-made furniture, arts+crafts, all reasonably priced.

    ... I think she meant my accent. They don’t get many visitors turns out. She kept offering to refill my coffee I think just to get me to talk again.

    Ohio lived up to its reputation for bad roads with very patchy surfaces. Blaming Dave and (red) Barry for not paying enough taxes to their state.

    ... never any range anxiety because I always had between 60-100 miles left when I reached the next charger. The car routes thru the Superchargers so no problem finding and getting to them. It was much easier than I thought it would be. The total cost of fuel $ 0 !!! So much fun,looking forward to driving home in a few ...
