... They used to serve beer in glass boots, but apparently too many were stolen so they stopped that tradition. Home relatively early that night. About 9.00. We dropped Adriano off for a meeting at the hall that the parish commune had built and Grazia showed us around. The next sagra (fete) is on in July and they are getting ready for it. Bruno thought we were having an early night, but then Nicola came over to say goodbye, so we still stayed up till ...

After wondering around absorbing the ...

Our day started off fairly normal: shower and dress, off to breakfast, clean our teeth and off to the piazza to see the Basilica. We queued for 45 minutes before it opened at 0945, I stored our back pack in the free storage facility a lane away and finally the doors open and we begin our touristy day! The Basilica was free and as a Byzantine building, does not have the adornment of the Baroque style churches we saw throughout Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia last year. It still had the ...

... headed back to Ferrovia to grab some dinner but not without taking some photos in time for sunset. I was excited to board the bullet train to Firenze (which we needed to reserve beforehand) since it will be my first. First class was awesome -- it had wi-fi, complimentary drinks and some snacks.

We reached Florence at around half past 9 and checked into our hotel beside the station. What a day. Thankful that God made a way for us to enjoy our day-trip to ...
