    The bar in the Newcastle airport gate lounge (i.e. past security) is completely defunct! So if you want a cup of coffee do it before security.

    Strangely even people without boarding passes could seemingly go through security too, which seems weird but kinda quaint in this security mad world of ...

    ... our first days activity where we saw the dolphin show which was amazing and a sea lion detective show which had worse jokes than Liams (or on par with). Highlights also included seeing the polar bears as these were an impressive sight and quite cute for big dangerous animals! However, we ran out of time seeing everything but only just missed out on seeing the penguins encounter at the end and guess what Lucy was saying she really was looking forward to ...

    ... just prior to landing that those passengers going on to Chiangmai could catch a new connection at 9, arriving in Chiangmai about 11. I was ecstatic as I just wanted to get here and wasn't thrilled about having to stopover in Bangkok for the night. We arrived and we were able to give Tannii the biggest hug.     4. Country has been hit by cyclone Pam. Government annouced state of emergency. Many key roads are still closed down. Even the cruise ships trips around PNG have been cancelled.
    5. Too expensive. Organized roundtrips for May to Aug cost between 5,000-7,000 A$ for 10 days without the flights to and from PNG. Doing the math, that is 430 EUR per day on average!!!!
    6. End of rainy season, but still raining every day heavily.

    We don't cease to be amazed at the hospitality and good will of our church brethren in Australia. We have really appreciated being with all of them.

    Church services are about 20 minutes away from here and where the Brisbane and Gold Coast congregations along some from Toowoomba and others gather at 2:30 pm.
