... It is located only two stations on the underground.

Their underground is really easy to negotiate, ticketing is easy and you can choose English as well as other languages, and so clean. There are lighted panels along the walkways and no graffiti on any of the panels. It is remarkable and a credit to the pride of the Viennese.

We had a lovely day. The "Kiss & Ride" is located in a theme park...all decked out for Christmas, very pretty. ...

New day, new country. Yet it was only 3 hours away - still grasping the fact different countries can be on the same piece of land. Off to Austria we headed - the place that people who have never heard of Australia assume we are from, because we say the name too quick and bogan-like - "straya" mate. On the way back we had to wait ages because of Tom ...

... of nice hotels- my working for Westin years ago changed his expectations of hotels forever. The hotel was clean and comfortable, most likely for business travellers who aren't that concerned with luxury finishings. I'd compare it to a Doubletree hotel and Jim's used to Westin, so he wasn't very impressed. It was prepaid so there wasn't much we could do about it. We found our room in an adjacent building, got settled, then went out to sightsee and find a restaurant for dinner. ...

... vanilla custard. We got few groceries from a local store which was open unlike all the others in town but only bought enough for dinner and breakfast. On the way home we did a bit of detouring to Café Landtmann which is a famous café which used to be frequented by names such as Sigmund Freud and Gustav Mahler. After waiting in a queue for 10 minutes we were seated at a fancy table in what looked like an old library. Liz and I ordered the Austrian tradition of apple strudel ...
