... tiled roof. The cathedral has 23 bells (Alex will love that fact), the largest of which is nicknamed 'Boomer' and is the second largest swinging bell in Europe - I bet you didn't know that! The whole city is full of bell sounds and we loved it, a little reminder of home...

So there you have it, Vienna in a nutshell. In the words of Ultravox, 'Ohhhhhh Vienna'!

    A little late with the post, but on Wednesday March 26th, we flew out of Rome at 8:20pm and arrived in Vienna around 10:00pm. We got to our hotel around 11:00 and like we have done in the past when visiting other cities, we went for a walk to get a general understanding of the city.     ... deciduous. But we could still appreciate it and understand how magnificent it would be in spring or summer. We found Palmenhaus Schonbrunn (the greenhouse) which were huge and built in 1882. It is among the largest botanical exhibits of its kind in the world with around 4,500 plant species. The gardens surrounding it was filled with topiaries which were all different sizes and fortunately still green!
