Drove Northeast up the St. Lawrence Seaway to Riviere-du-Loop, then turned southeast toward the very top of Maine. Another detour
... to the upper town (Haute Ville), where we watched a street performer in front of the funicular station.
We had lunch at a restaurant in Old Town. Nadine and Silvio split a bowl of delicious French Onion Soup as an appetizer. Toby tried it (first just the melted cheese, but then also the onions and broth) and liked it too.

Day 29 - Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada
Today we headed northeast and left Quebec behind on our way to the Bay of Fundy. It was chilly and rainy, a big change from the heat in Quebec City. The scenery was pretty and the countryside is covered in yellow dandelions. They should be called the National Flower of Canada I think. This is a sparsely populated area (around the top of Maine) and there wasn't much to write home about! A week from today
... the essentials..... shoes and orthotics, sunscreen, pencils and notebook.......some clothes that are suitable for the temperature and culture, phone numbers, insurance cards, peanut butter, your well wishes...... that's about it.

Canyon and waterfalls

We then headed out of town on the River Valley Scenic Drive (unsurprisingly through rivers and valleys) to Grand Falls where we, first stocked up on chocolate that we couldn't get earlier and then viewed the most impressive falls and gorge.
