Historical Traveler Reviews Caribe Royale All Suite Hotel & Convention Center Orlando

Stay at the Best in the Orlando Area!

      from

Our 5th trip to Disney and the BEST yet at the Villas at Caribe Royal!

We had stayed on Disney property in the past but won't again- this place is Spaceous for a family of 4 or 5- Extremely Clean, the pool, grounds, staff, and atmosphere is A+++. Complimentary transportation to the parks is a plus but the Caribe is TOP NOTCH in every way- request a Villa and Enjoy the Best Vacation in the Orlando area possible!

Excellent choice if the price is right

      from

We read reviews before booking and were confident that the package offered to us thru Southwest Air travel agents was a solid deal. Well, we'll never find out because the first thing that happened to us when we checked-in was they upgraded us from out suite to a villa! Boy, if we'd known they were going to do that we would have packed half the clothes that we actually brought. The villas are extremely nice (at least if you were expecting to stay in a suite) : kitchen, whirlpool, washer and dryer two TV's

Our package came with a free buffet. It's not Ritz-Carleton quality, but it's free and there's enough fruit and cereal to get something healthy if you're not into bacon, eggs and sausage every morn.

No problem to drive to Seaworld or Disney. Pool is great for kids.

      Staff is above average.

Grounds and facilities are so nice that it might be expensive if paying full price, but we'd definitely stay there again.

      The Best Hotel

      from

The Caribe Royale was the best hotel I've ever gone to. The service waas great, the rooms were finominal. I don't know how travel sites can only give it a 2 or 3 star hotel. It's more like a 5 star! Well in conclusion the Caribe Royale was awesome I hope you do too! From, Anonymous

      Excellant

      from

We moved to this hotel after a disasterous start to our holiday at the Parc Corniche resort(not one i would recommend) It was brilliant , great pool everything was very clean, rooms were a great size. I would recommend it to anyone.

      The Villas were great

      from

We visited Disney in April 2003. This was our 7th trip to Florida in as many years. We have always stayed on-site at one of the Disney resorts. This year we were daring enough to try the Caribe Royale. This was a very beautiful resort and it ranked right up there with the Disney resorts. The price was much less than what we would have paid at a Disney resort. We stayed in the Villas. They were plenty spacious, as we had 6 people in our room and never got in each others way. The rooms were very clean and modern. I was worried about bugs, but I couldn't find any!!! The kitchen was very clean and nice set up for cooking a home-made spaghetti dinner, and breakfast every morning. The parking was only a few steps from our Villa. We stayed in Villa #7. The pool was .2 of a mile away, it was less than a 5 minute walk, and paved with beautiful landscape all the way. My 8 year old son loved the waterslide, then he couldn't wait for his daily pina-colada!!! The little bar by the pool made great iced drinks, and could cook up quite a jumbo hot dog and double decker grilled cheese that the kids enjoyed. There was always room in the pool, even with a lot of guests in the water. The washer and dryer in the room sure came in handy.

      Non-Disney Paradise!

      from

First visit was April 2002, Going back April 2003! Pool is fabulous with lots of room even when crowded! Cafe Largo is great for carry-out any time of day! The pool bar had awesome drinks and good hours of operation. Kiddy pool/playground for little kids is great because their are tables to sit at any enjoy food/drinks while the kids play. The grounds are lush and beautiful. Would highly recommend the Villas if you can afford it-they have everything you would ever need and are beautiful! If you are looking to stay outside of Disney properties, but close to the theme parks-stay here! You won't be disappointed!

Simply the best resort hotel in Orlando. Period.

      from

My wife and I booked a four-night stay at Caribe Royale in mid-2001. The booking agency said we had made a great choice, but I reserved the right to disagree until we arrived... at which point, all reservations magically disappeared. The magnificent lobby hints at the excellence of the rest of the establishment.

We stayed in a double Queen suite (all rooms are suites here). The room was clean and well-kept. We noticed that the room didn't seem to be as cool as we liked, so we called the front desk. The maintenance department was happy to adjust the comfort settings for our room via computer.

Both the indoor and outdoor bars are nice, and the food was surprisingly good. At the time we went, the hotel featured a **free** breakfast buffet.

Then there's the pool. Ah, the pool. I sincerely feel that calling it "just a pool" is insulting. This is a lagoon in paradise: waterfalls (yes, your kids can swim under them if they like), a twisty slide reminiscent of your fave water park, and so many square feet that even at peak times the pool's not particularly crowded.

Caribe Royale has complimentary shuttle service to the Disney properties. Nevertheless, there's enough to do onsite that if you book a room at Caribe Royale for just a place to hold your stuff while at Disney, you're missing the point. This is definitely a place that offers an excellent opportunity to relax and unwind. Disney can wait a day. (Or two...)

It's been nearly a year and a half since we went, and we still sigh longingly whenever Caribe Royale is mentioned. We're going again sometime soon.

      Great Hotel

      from

My husband,6 and 8 year old children and I stayed at the Caribe for 4 nights in August. We had a great time. The rooms were clean. We stayed in a king Jacuzzi which had one bedroom with a door and a big Jacuzzi tub in the shower. At first I wished the Jacuzzi had been seperate until showering in it. The water power was powerful and you were not cramped in a tight shower. Kids slept on a sofabed in living room with seperate TV. Elevators were very fast. Pool was the best with a waterfall and slide. Breakfast was very good and included in the cost. The only sort of bad thing was that the hotel was a 15 minute drive away from the major strip. But I guess that could be a good thing also. I would stay again.

      Excellent Hotel!

      from

We had been to Orlando for 10 days, first 3 in Caribe Royale, others in Disneys Coronado and Caribbean Beach Hotel. This hotel is just about 1-2 miles outside the disney property, just down the road. This hotel was the best of our stay and the less expensive one too. We enjoied it very much. The three towers are around the pool area which has a nice water fall, and a nice small slide. Towels are availible at the pool as much you want. Also a nice pool bar. There was always enough space at the pool, we found it really nice there. You have very short ways, the pool, the restaurant, the bar are just an elevator ride away. Each tower has an information desk, people are very nice. The good thing is also the breakfast, huge breakfast buffet and you can have it sitting outside. Of course it could be improved, but its OK like it is - more than you can eat with good quality, and each day somthing different as hot food. We liked that very much - don't go too late, than it is crowded. A Hotel where you really enjoy your vaccation. If we go to Orlando again, we will stay at Caribe Royale.

      A wonderful time!

      from

My family and I stayed at the Caribe Royale in June of 2001 for over one week. We loved it and had a wonderful time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone of any age! It was family friendly, but had amenities that would appeal to singles, young marrieds, and retirees as well. A delicious breakfast buffet was included in the price and we're not talking muffins and juice! You honestly could spend a week there and never have to leave the premises. Staff and concierge were great, the rooms are nicely appointed and the pool area is awesome, enough even for my thirteen year old to want to spend the day there. The location is out of traffic, but close to the parks and downtown Orlando if you want to visit Sea World or Universal. As a matter of fact, I am online right now booking a reservation for this summer! I have had many disappointments in accomodations in the Orlando-Kissimmee area, but this was a most pleasant surprise. International Drive is within driving distance and Lake Buena Vista is right off the Interstate for convenience.

... we headed to Harry Potter and Diagon Alley. With much hype around this area we were interested to see it. We have to say it was pretty cool. The attention to detail was great and the shops were just like in the movie with lots of animatronics in the windows. We were expecting a huge crowd but as the weather had turned grey and drizzly the crowd wasn’t too bad and we only had a 10 minute wait for the Escape from Gringotts ride (no fast pass here). The big drawcard here is ...

... at the Magic Kingdom and bussed over. We walked back to the bus cue where we waited to board a transport bus to take us the 15 minute drive back to the Magic Kingdom.
On arrival the park was emptying out. The evening event is a special ticket and one must possess the correct pass to stay. Approved, we entered the park with thousands of other eager attendees most of whom were, as the ticket invited, in costumes. What fun! A trick or treat bag and a map was given to each of ...

... to the Nemo ride. That wasn't as fun, but it's still cute for the kids.

Our last ride for the day is Soarin'. This is a really fun ride for everyone. The wait time thing said over 1 hour wait, but we really only waited for half hour. It was great! We couldn't reserve this ride beforehand for the both of us so we were bummed out at first, but luckily we took the chance to wait it out on the long line. This ride makes it feel like you ...

... car, and I was delighted to see that there was a huge, squash-faced cat sat in the passenger seat of the car next to us. He had his own little cushion and everything, and when his owner – a small, white haired elderly lady – came back, she said she takes him everywhere with her…so sweet! We then got back on the road with no major stops until we reached Orlando at around 2pm.

Our hotel is at the opposite end of International Drive to where ...
