Noosa

... to eventually give in and buy an umbrella :( not what you expect to be buying in Australia. That evening there was nothing we could do, so we rented a DVD and watched it in bed with a bottle of wine and Tim Tams! The next morning the sun was shining and we were going to Australia Zoo! CRIKEY. We were both very excited and couldn't wait to see all the animals. It was fantastic, and we were not ...

4.27pm - Musings

... even go all the way to the top on the first go, and subsequent bounces were tiny, so I braced myself and gave it a go. It was okay. Not that scary, so not that good, but not that scary in the bad way either. Along with a few shows (such as Hollywood Stunt Drivers, a 3D mini-Shrek movie with all the proper cast, and a deliciously cheesy Batman vs The Scarecrow live fight on Main Street), it was generally a good day out, although I think Dreamworld would ...

In a natural disaster sandwich in Noosa

... can see why they have those problems. Also, up in northern Queensland, there was terrible flooding that had taken lives and cut off towns. Our direction of travel was north, though as the roads were cut off, it was clear we needed to bide our time in southern queensland. Australia is a beautiful country with a great climate - but along with this comes the fire/floods risk. I will stop complaining about the weather in the UK in future...

Noosa and Australia Zoo

... coastal walk, which ran up and down cliffs and along beaches from Sunshine beach around to Main beach and the town. Very pleasant with good views of dolphins below the cliffs. The waves were pretty big on some of the beaches which was cool. In the evening we headed down to the beach and went fishing. I caught the worlds biggest fish, as seen in the photo...

From Rags to Riches

... to take out books to read!). While we diligently tried to blog she regaled us with stories of how she was going to help her father's Alzheimer's by Mentally Stimulating him! As well as how her brother was going to be picking her up at 17:20 and taking her for dinner. To prepare her miniscule stomach she didn't want to eat anything, preferring to knock back a few! The rest of the trip was racked with anxiety that seesawed from forgetting ...

Tin Can Bay & Noosa, Australia

... to Tin Can Bay in the near future!!! The next morning we got up at 6am and were down at the boat ramp at 6:15am to try to spot some dolphins. There was a dolphin there when we got there and only four other people so we had a good look at the dolphin and took a few pictures. We were hoping we might be able to feed the dolphin but were told feeding time wouldn't be til 8am. We hung around for an hour and by 7:15am there must have been over 50 people there ...

... great Wedl trip to Australia when I was 10 years old. The rest of the Westons eventually moved back to California, but as Marie had lived there during most of her adolescence, including high school, she stayed. It was great to see her again and meet her adorable 1 year old little girl and Pete! Sadly, we forgot our camera this weekend, so don't have any pictures. I'll see if I can swipe some from the web to show you all the scenery.

Row row row your boat....

Chilling out in lurvely Noosa.....

... 60 minutes (*****, when you conder I was there 3 days) and didnt enjoy any of the Noosa everglades, the walks, the national park, the mountain biking, etc, because it ****** down the entire time. ****. Though we did see a classic car show on a sunday morning, which was nice. The outstanding memory of which being walking around to the relaxed jazz warblings of a local band, soothing away those saturday night hangover blues...... all good.....
