... the rock climbing on Saturday, if not sooner.

Supper was in the dining room again and was a surf and turf theme. Another amazing meal. Our waiter, Ernesto, is just awesome and really entertaining. I think he gets a real kick out of the kids and likes to show them tricks with flicking spoons into glasses and telling them jokes. Our assistant waitress is really nice too. She just started her first day on this cruise, so it took her a couple days to really get into the swing ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica adellegThe ship docks at Ochos Rios in Jamaica so we decided to just do a little shopping onshore .Jamaica is a fairly poor country so competition is very strong for any sort of business that they can get. After you leave the ship it's a kilometre walk down to a few shopping centres. About 15 different people asked if we wanted a taxi and then once in the stores the store ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica youngsinusa2009Ocho is an interesting city, divided by a straight line, on one side (from the center to the port), relatively safe area day and night, upscale boutique, restaurants and on the other side, the chaos and not so safe area. There are a few hundreds meters of beachfront.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica gratien... there is no pictures of the other people on the blog because everybody is naked or worse. Well, wrong! We have perfect decent pictures of our friends. BUT: most of the people do not tell their parents, children, employee, ... where they are going. Hedo is not something you talk about. So, to avoid that somebody, anybody get embarrassed because of us: no pictures. Just a couple dive-food pictures. And us. How was it? Wild. Kinky. Fun. Hope to see you again, one day, Hedo.
Runaway Bay, Jamaica tonyandmarina... the kids would be missing home staying here! A separate bedroom for us and one for the kids with 2 separate beds - I was in Heaven. Jamaican paintings everywhere, DVD Players, Coffee maker (very important), IPOD Docks, just as they advertised. The suites seem to be recently renovated everything inside seemed new and just done! I put my little ones down to sleep and heard a knock on the door. I wasn't expecting anyone but there was our savior, the ...
Runaway Bay, Jamaica iriegirl... sights. We saw a lot of people who were living in poverty and homes that were in shambles. Both my wife and myself were surprised how widespread it was. Unfortunately this off-set some of the beauty of the countryside and sadden us and took some of the joy away from our trip that day.

We finally got to the point where we would be zip-lining and we got geared up and off ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica thetraveldog... I wouldn't think of not getting him a gift on a vacation. That gift was a pair of nail clippers that saw "I <3 Jamaica" on them, I thought this was the perfect gift. I also bought him a home karaoke set so that if he ever feels like taking up singing then he could use this tool to get him started. I also bought some Jamaican clothes and watched some reggae performers do their thing on the curb. It was pretty good I ...
Kingston, Jamaica oom3r... with delight because that was probably the best thing I have ever tasted. I had also befriended of few of these fellow roommates of mine. I am super excited about where I am going to be heading today. I will be taking a ferry boat to the amazing Port Royal. The boat ride cost me about $25 but it was well worth it. When I got there, I immediately realized that there was much history behind this scene. This port used to be a busy place ...
Kingston, Jamaica oom3r... up a whole new world of adventure, and the staff here make it easy and enjoyable.

Entertainment

The entertainment here is fun, exciting, and relaxed. The playmakers, who always have something going on, and are very fun an energetic but not so pushy, that you feel forced into games when you just want to relax. Dunn's River is a very lively, uptempo resort, with a generally younger crowd. If you want a very laid ...
Ocho Rios, Jamaica caribbean_feverThis was a horrible nasty little place I hope to never see again. When you walk down the street, it is filthy and taxi drivers nag at you and then throw insults when you refuse to take a taxi. I Came. I Saw. I LEFT! One almost saving feature of this hideous place was swimming in the water, but even that turned south when I felt what I believe to be a sewer pipe under my feet.
