Today is our last day at this fantastic resort. Our shuttle to the airport is only at 19:30, so we spent the last of our time here soaking in the sun at the beach( our favourite spot, no kids allowed). Soak up the sun we did, I think I went 3 or 4 shades darker. Time to make our way back and spend our last night in Istanbul, then our journey home ...

Today's itinerary starts with a trip to the spectacular Saklikent Gorge. The gorge is 18km long and 500m high which is as tall as the tallest buildings in San Francisco. The gorge is only accessible after April when most of the snow has melted. As one of the most popular sites in the area, we set off early to avoid the crowds. We arrived around 11am after a simple breakfast at the guesthouse. At breakfast, most of the late night backpackers were ...

First sleep in of the trip and a 10am departure for Patara. Breakfast in Kalkan overlooking the harbour as the sun gradually moved around to light up the white houses was beautiful. Patara Prince Hotel was where I thought I would like my 70th when we were here 4 years ago. It is still on my wish list after another visit and hopefully we will return in 3 years for a longer stay. Fortunately shuttle buses are provided ...

... Most don't have jobs to go to but don't seem phased by that at all and all say they hope to be re employed at the resort next year.
Still thinking about paragliding - they show the days flights on a tv in the bar and it looks amazing ( tandems have a camera to video the experience) but the take off and landing look a little tricky although with a burly bloke pushing you off a cliff there would appear to be little opportunity to change your mind at the last minute. ...

    Sailing Turkey

... We bought a frisbee from the markets at Kas, but more importantly got some sea-sickness tablets from the pharmacy. Somehow I don't think we were their only customers for the day. After Kas we sailed around the corner to a little bay for dinner on the boat. A much calmer end to a pretty challenging day.

On Tuesday morning the boat again left early however seas were a lot less rough and everyone managed to stay in their cabins dozing until 8.30am when ...
