... from the brewery to the accom. A little more stressful than anticipated the first time driving left hand drive car on the right side of the road as this tiny historic town sent into traffic mayhem with the Tour de France having been through only hours earlier. With the sat nav telling us to turn down streets closed for the event, oncoming traffic in streets barely wide enough for two cars, and rain falling heavily, our front right ...

... the central Groote Maarkt, with not an awful lot to see in the other nearby streets.

Sanctuary Wood Cemetery was our first stop. Looking over the rows of pristine white headstones, to the farmland beyond, it held an air of ordered peace.

... a hospice, really). There was a good altarpiece painted by Memling that in one section showed John the Divine dreaming about the Apocalypse. There was also a large reliquary painted to show the martyrdom of St. Ursula and her 11,000 virgins. Turns out, Ursula only had 11 virgins, there having been a misinterpretation of the Roman abbreviation for "11 holy virgins," which could also be read as Roman numerals for 11,000. Imagine traveling with 11,000 young girls in ...

... all the way to ending up in a fryer, ready to be served. Another room showed the different equipment used to fry the potatoes, and other rooms had descriptions and models of the different potatoes. Just as you finish walking through the museum, you end up in their restaurant, where you can sample their friets. I couldn't think of a better way to end a tour.

The rest of the town truly ...
