Sunday in Eindhoven
Sunday: slept in, had a small breakfast and just chilled.
After a lunch of leftovers, we went for a long walk along the Dommel. Its all very nicely kept parklands on both banks, and it opens up into a large park (Genneper park).
Tonight we're having chicken soup for dinner - nothing too exciting.

Maastricht Dag Reis
... top of a hill (I know! hills, in Holland!), and even though the tour was all in Dutch it was pretty cool to walk through the caves. Very minecraft/Mines of Moria. Unfortunately the south caves were closed today due to high river water, and apparently they are even more awesome, with huge underground chambers.

Back in Eindhoven for 2012

Friday night we stayed at home and had a nice meal, slevinken (a dutch thing, like sausages but instead of intestines, they put proscuitto). We also booked all the things for the next few weeks - train tickets and accommodation in Bruges for next weekend, and the hire car for our trip to Luxembourg the weekend after ...
Midweek Belgium and a few days Holland
... Admiraal'. The food was very good, and the service very friendly. The chef came to say hi, and to receive her compliments from my father who was very pleased with his dish. We sat outside on the covered terrace, and when we got there it was raining a bit. But by the time we were finished it cleared up and it became a lovely evening. After dinner we strolled around the old harbor of Enkhuizen for a bit before heading home.

Jamie is in Year 12 and just attempting to gain entry to Oxford University - quite an initimidating concept, and we had a good talk about what she wanted to study (philosophy, economics and politics) and what Oxford wants her to do to gain entry.
